Knew someone who did as Rimmer did in an exam once, not the cheating part, but he didnt make any attempt to answer the questions and just wrote "I am a fish" to all the answers.
Lmao, that was my first thought. Couldn't find it either though.

50% there.

I don't really care that you spelled doesn't wrong, actually, since I know typos are easy to make.

Rofl, I'm not changing "dosn't". Must be tough feeling the need to analyse peoples posts for spelling mistakes because you're too stupid to come up with any good insults are arguments.

Yeah, because noticing spelling errors while reading is really deep analysis.

Laughably, I am not trying to come up with any good insults or arguments. I don't see a need to mire myself in your petty insults. I'm sure the mods will like your flaming.

To clarify, I was calling the act of not memorizing easy math formulas pathetic. If that means the person not memorizing is pathetic, this is solely the fault of your interpretation of my words.

never said it was. memory is my greatest academic strength, but that doesn't hold true for everybody.

and there is a difference between laziness and simply not wanting to do it. sometimes, yes it is laziness. sometimes you just don't see the point. sometimes you don't have time. sometimes you can't do it. there's a million reasons for any given outcome; stop seeing the world in black and white. its fun living in color!

seriously though nuk, you've got to get away from this one way only way of life. there's a million different ways to do everything ya know.

Sorry nukchebi0, we're not all non-cheating, non-drug/alcohol doing, non-girlfriend having (and I still lol at your sig as it pretty much means you're gay), anti-piracy, perfect little Christian choir boys like you try to be. Sometimes people cheat. Oh well! Get over it. Doesn't take away from our education and won't make our brains forget the material. In fact, I actually often REMEMBER things better when I cheat.

Take your moral trips elsewhere.

Judging from your sig, you're obviously only 16. Which makes all the moral trips you put people on all the funnier, and all the "immaturity" statements 10x funnier.

also, inb4 "i'm so mature" or a statement regarding that.

My point exactly. Is it fair that you have to get lower grades just because you forgot some things? Should your grades show that? No. Which is another reason why the education system NEEDS to be reformed (in NYS, atleast). When you see girls who don't know who assassinated Kennedy in AP History...that even FURTHER proves my point.

Woah.  Do you actually feel as though you have accomplished something when you cheat?

Regarding the bolded portion above:  The whole point of education is to learn things.  I understand the argument about mindless memorization, but it is something that must be done.  If a test requires that you memorize, then you must memorize.  Why should your grades reflect work that was not done?  Effort that was not expended?  You should get the grade that best represents your performance, and cheating is not the way to do that.

People deserve the grades they get, regardless of the method they used to get them. The ends justify the means. If someone cheats, fair play to them they used their initiative to do the best they could.

How Machiavellian of you.

That logic breaks down so fast...but hey, if you cheat, you aren't learning.  It will catch up with you eventually.

I'm not bitching or claiming moral superiority, but obviously my mentality on education differs from yours.

well dammit. now i have switch sides after poseidon and ollie went psychotic on me.

cheating as an everyday thing, or a grade padder, or because you feel wronged by the system is plain WRONG. period, no ifs ands or buts.

cheating on one or two tests that you don't really care about but you have to get through is one thing. if you're taking an empty class that you don't care about (like general ed classes in college) thats one thing. if the shit hit the fan and somebody in your family died thats one thing. cheating should not carry you through school. it should be a last resort to help you when you're really and truly fucked, like i was on my woodshop final (cmon...who has time to study that with a math grade on the line?), not a device to make it easier to coast through schools.

i guess so.

also, what senortoenails was saying, is that when you cheat whatever the subject matter was doesn't sink in, so when you get back to your final and eventually to getting your college degree you're fucked. imagine being a doctor who cheated his way through med school? you'd be absolutely fucked, and in jail within six hours of your first day.

Oh I agree with you there. But like I said, if you cheat you ought to be able to pull it off.

I don't think anyones stupid enough to cheat all the way through med-school...could be wrong.

I think cheating if you're in a fix or havn't had time to revise for the exam is fine if you're confident that you could have pulled it off legitimately.

If you are confident you can do it legitimately, why not just do it legitimately?

If you haven't had time, you should have made time.  It's not like studying and getting homework done is impossible.

Cheating is not a way to get by...but I guess academic honesty is becoming less and less important.

Honesty in all its forms is becoming less and less important in our society. It's symptomatic of a culture where ambition and prosperity are the only admirable human traits.

I may have been a bit over zealous earlier, I don't think cheats should prosper indefinately, especially if they are trying to get into positions of power and responsibility (doctor etc), but I stand by my views that cheating is acceptable every now and again.  Why not? Sure you could probably do it without cheating but why make the effort? As long as you do acctually know your shit I don't see any problem with taking notes into the exam as a back-up.
