To clarify, I was calling the act of not memorizing easy math formulas pathetic. If that means the person not memorizing is pathetic, this is solely the fault of your interpretation of my words.

Woah.  Do you actually feel as though you have accomplished something when you cheat?

Regarding the bolded portion above:  The whole point of education is to learn things.  I understand the argument about mindless memorization, but it is something that must be done.  If a test requires that you memorize, then you must memorize.  Why should your grades reflect work that was not done?  Effort that was not expended?  You should get the grade that best represents your performance, and cheating is not the way to do that.

People deserve the grades they get, regardless of the method they used to get them. The ends justify the means. If someone cheats, fair play to them they used their initiative to do the best they could.

I don't think anyones stupid enough to cheat all the way through med-school...could be wrong.

I think cheating if you're in a fix or havn't had time to revise for the exam is fine if you're confident that you could have pulled it off legitimately.

If you are confident you can do it legitimately, why not just do it legitimately?

If you haven't had time, you should have made time.  It's not like studying and getting homework done is impossible.

Cheating is not a way to get by...but I guess academic honesty is becoming less and less important.
