So its birthday in about 2 weeks time. And I am in dire need of a new mouse and keyboard.
This is what I'm thinking spending my birthday money on, and would like to know if anyone has had any experience with the following. If so what were they like?

Mouse- Razer Lachesis

Keyboard- Razer Lycosa

Each are about £40, so obviously, I would prefer to know what they are like before I actually buy them.

PS- I would have searched..but it's down

As far as I know, there is no UK layout version of the Lycosa as yet, all the UK vendors I have seen are selling the US layout, be sure to check it before you buy.

As far as i can see the mouse is gonna cost you ~£48 and the keyboard ~£65 ....and like TEP says the layouts for the boards are all US

UK layout is expected fairly soon, not sure when but if it's around the same time scale as the Tarantula had for it's UK layout distribution it'll be in 3-6 weeks or so.

You could always just get the Tarantula I have one, it's actually a better made keyboard than the Lycosa but lacks the shiney backlit keys, the Lycosa lacks the shiney glowing logo though which is frankly win defined Oh and I don't think the Lycosa has dedicated macro keys. The tehnology used in both is pretty much the same, and they're miles ahead of their competition so it's basically all down to aesthetic appeal between the two.

Does the Tarantula have the headphone input, and USB port? And how much did it cost you? Tbh, I don't think I can wait 3-6 weeks

It has 2 USB and headphone and mic ports, cost me about £80 but I bought mine the day it was released in UK layout, it'll have dropped a lot by now.

Ok, thanks I will have a look at it
Have you had any problems with it at all? Or any dislikes?

Nope worked perfectly from day one, my only quibble was the lack of backlit keys but I just bought the big ass light add on instead.

It's built like a tank, literally, it'd take a while to break it deliberatly so it's not going to wear out through normal use. It is rather big, actually I mean rather huge, the shiney bits do show stains up a bit, just don't dribble on it and you'll be fine

Yeh I saw the light add on...How much did that cost, coz I'm strongly considering getting it now

£20, it's more for comedy value than actual use.

Ooooh glow

Lol. Looking at some pictures of it, and the only I don't like the look of is the massive amount of space under the keys. I have limited room on my desk, and could really be doing without that

May have a problem there Shadow as most "gaming" keyboards are huge, G15, Tarantula etc. compared to normal keyboards

I can say this: The Razer Copperhead is nice. I don't know about the Lachesis, but the Copperhead is nice. Guess what came in the mail today?
