Sorry nukchebi0, we're not all non-cheating, non-drug/alcohol doing, non-girlfriend having (and I still lol at your sig as it pretty much means you're gay), anti-piracy, perfect little Christian choir boys like you try to be. Sometimes people cheat. Oh well! Get over it. Doesn't take away from our education and won't make our brains forget the material. In fact, I actually often REMEMBER things better when I cheat.

Take your moral trips elsewhere.

Judging from your sig, you're obviously only 16. Which makes all the moral trips you put people on all the funnier, and all the "immaturity" statements 10x funnier.

also, inb4 "i'm so mature" or a statement regarding that.

My point exactly. Is it fair that you have to get lower grades just because you forgot some things? Should your grades show that? No. Which is another reason why the education system NEEDS to be reformed (in NYS, atleast). When you see girls who don't know who assassinated Kennedy in AP History...that even FURTHER proves my point.
Woah.  Do you actually feel as though you have accomplished something when you cheat?

Regarding the bolded portion above:  The whole point of education is to learn things.  I understand the argument about mindless memorization, but it is something that must be done.  If a test requires that you memorize, then you must memorize.  Why should your grades reflect work that was not done?  Effort that was not expended?  You should get the grade that best represents your performance, and cheating is not the way to do that.
Who said I felt I accomplished something? I actually feel kinda bad when I cheat. I also do it extremely sparingly. But oh no, I'm a horrible person and less intelligent because I cheat.

Meh, I wouldn't mind that. You mostly take classes you're INTERESTED in for College...therefore I'd feel no need to cheat.

No idea about a 4 year college, but at a community college that doesn't apply. Most people end up taking the basics their first 2 years.

eh normally i help out my classmates when they forget stuff, but i do it occasionally for hw and stuff. i don't really need to on tests.

Nuk i want to know why you feel this way. How did your observations throughout life bring you to the conclusion that ppl who don't follow rules are bad? If we all followed rules nothing would change. how could we ever survive if we needed someone to tell us the characteristics that we yearn to follow, but no one will step outside the box to follow them. how could anything be proven wrong? the logic that you base the assumption that those who do not follow rules are corrupt and are waste is truly illogical. the very basis of what is human is individuality, and conforming to a set of rules likes this ignores that individuality, and therefore ignores what makes us human. not that i condone breaking rules and the like, but we must admit that we are not angels, we do break rules, and not admitting that creates a world to live in that doesn't truly exist. forcing these ideas on anyone will always receive a negative reaction unless they live in a dream world too. nothing is ever perfect, especially ppl.

o_O there's some really slack testing rules around here.

Throughout my education the only things you were allowed were:

A clear, label-free pencil case.

Unmarked pens and pencils.

A normal scientific calculator (if applicable) with the cover and any formula sheets removed.

A label-free, completely clear bottle of water.

my analysis of above thread...

nukchebi0 fails, mainly due to the fact that earlier he was saying 50% of the world are pieces of shit. This makes me assume that he thinks he is above others, thus he fails...good work from you.

If you are confident you can do it legitimately, why not just do it legitimately?

If you haven't had time, you should have made time.  It's not like studying and getting homework done is impossible.

Cheating is not a way to get by...but I guess academic honesty is becoming less and less important.
i might be wrong, but i believe you're an older member (25+) of the forums, right?

that said, the rigors of academia now are ten times that of when you were passing through high school (not that it was a walk in the park for you either). its almost impossible to get into college, especially for white males, most public institutions aside. UCLA this year had an 8.5% acceptance rate, unheard of for a public school.

basically what this means is you have to get all As in every single class, and you have to take multiple APs (i alone have taken 8 APs, which is actually pretty ridiculous) and have cocurriculars and extra curriculars up the wazzoo. sometimes you just do not have the time to study. most of the time, yes you do, and you should. but i've gotten home at 10:00 from a track meet before and had calculus and government tests the next day. its hard to balance everything, and sometimes it can't be done.

it sucks to have to resort to dishonesty, but sometimes you don't have a choice.

Ahhh, good old AP tests. I remember when I took one last year we had to sit at tables and had five to six kids to one table and the kid next to you was less than a foot away.

Writing on calculator cover and putting notes into calculator is the best technique for math classes.
if you have a programmable just write a program that solves whatever you're having trouble with.
My friend did a great program for our calculators. It does the following:

% Error (chemistry, it's easy to do your self though)
% Yield (easy to do as well)
Molar mass of shit
Find the frequency and energy of light (if you have the wavelength)
Solves various gas laws
Solve distance for lines
Solve midpoint for lines
Solve slope for lines
Special right triangle rules
Pythagorean theorem (again, easy)
Quadratic formula (easy but it's convenient)
GPA calculation

It's win. I can do all the shit on paper myself, but this is usually faster and more convenient when I don't have to show work.

Good for you.  As long as you can validate your behavior to yourself, then everything's OK, right?

If you interpret my signature to mean I am gay, it is obvious that you are wanting to find this meaning in it. I know it is rather sad you have to resort to calling me gay to let out your anger, but the internet has done wonders for preventing real life fights and atrocities, so I won't complain. If you actually thought about it for a second, you would realize it was just an observation based on the amount of "girl help" threads I have seen and complaining/jokes by various members who are married about those marriages (Serge, for example). But I understand - in my younger years, I acted much the same way. I am glad to have grown out of it, something you apparently have yet to do.

And, this isn't really a moral trip. Its more annoyance at the fact cheaters unfairly get good grades. I hate seeing lazy assholes who don't want to study get grades near the top of the class, when they don't deserve them.

I say there's two types of cheating.

Small-time: You do a quick glance at another classmate's test, just to see if they got the same answer. If they didn't you might copy it, or you might do it again. I'd call this doing 40MPH in a 35MPH zone.

WTF: You are constantly looking at someone else's test, looking at a cheat-sheet, plagiarizing an essay etc. This is doing 65MPH in a 25MPH zone while driving down the lane with oncoming traffic.

Small-time, I'm guilty of (usually checking to see if they got the same, and if not then checking my work). I've never done big-time and never will. People who do big-time, I kind of get annoyed by. Because if they get a better grade than me, I know and they know it's not legitimate. As someone pointed out, in this day and age of extremely anal and selective colleges, it's a bit of a pain to be put on a lower peg than someone else just because they were cheating fags.

I wonder how many of those who advocate cheating (leaning towards 'WTF'-type) denounce people who hack in video games?

I say there's two types of cheaters.

Those that rationalize what cheating they do do, and those that are as morally straight as Richard Simmons is sexually straight and flaunt it.

"I avoid girls"

Yeah...pretty much speaks for itself.

Dude, you're an elitist. Simple as that. You think you're so much better than people just because you take the moral high-ground.. And you're not, at all. And uh, grown out of it? Um, you've yet to see me post a girl thread on the forums yet.

Yes, it is a moral trip. It very much is. And you ALWAYS put people on them when they don't fulfill your perfect little world fantasies. You do it with the piracy threads, you do it with the drug threads, and now you're doing it here. Get over yourself. You're not some perfect little angel. And the fact that you try to pretend to be and try to act like one simply means that you're a stuck up, snobby, elitist.

Oh yes, so if I forget something because of my memory and the fact that I have 4 other tests that day, let me suffer!

Jesus Christ.

Again - it's not like I or others cheat ALL THE TIME. I've done it TWICE this year, compared to others who do it ALL THE TIME. THAT is wrong. It's not like I'm cheating to get through school...as I'm definitely not.

But hey, you wanna construe it as that...go right ahead. You always like to misconstrue things your own way anyways.
