I believe New York State allows concealed carry, but the City really doesn't. You have to have one hell of a reason to justify needing it, though.SEREMAKER wrote:
I'm pretty sure NY does not allow conceal carry
and for a starter pistol, that all depends on what your comfortable with
what guns have you shoot before
East New York.
EDIT: A person i know is a cop there, And he says that nearly everyone is armed. But they wont shoot at cops so another Sean Bell doesn't happen.

Doesn't matter if it's a full size gun or not...police are fucking stupid. They'd never know. My mom's ex boyfriend (who's a nassau county cop) got into a Billy Joel concert with a gun in the back of his pants. Nobody even knew.SEREMAKER wrote:

also :
Nine states have "may issue" laws requiring the applicant to demonstrate specific "need." In practice, this is often a mechanism to deny licensing.
These "may issue" states range from "shall issue" in practice, such as Alabama and Connecticut; to "at the whim of local officials", such as New York, New Jersey, Massachusetts, and California, (where rural officials liberally issue permits but urban officials seldom do) to "almost non-issue" in states such as Maryland; to "never-issue" Hawaii where, though state law allows for the issuance of permits, officials choose not to issue them under any circumstances

Part of carrying is understanding that there are very specific situations in which even drawing your weapon is called for. Learning how to avoid bad situations is as important as becoming proficient with your weapon. I know many people who have carried for decades and have never had a 'personal experience' necessitating the draw or use of their concealed carry. Keep in mind that if anyone, for any reason sees your weapon at an inapropriate time, you can be charged with brandishing and your CCW will be revoked forever.Poseidon wrote:
but yeah, why? to feel safer. in this day and age (and after many personal experiences leading to this), i'd feel a lot safer if I had one.
Keeping that in mind, I feels it is any responsible citizen's right to carry a loaded firearm.
" brandishing " goes differently state to stateReciprocity wrote:

in NC you can brandish your weapon but you can not AIM it unless you intend to use it ...... but theres a flip side to that by brandishing your weapon you have given the other person the mean to defend himself (if he has a CWP)
also in NC we have an " open carry law " ie you strap a weapon to the outside of your clothing in plain view of everyone and enter a public place and you will not get charged/arrested for it (unless they have a no weapons sign up)
Trust me - I know all too well when it's appropriate. I'd never do it unless I felt my life was truly in danger.Reciprocity wrote:

And thanks SERE, Justice and everyone else. Karma to those who didn't get any yet - i r can haz run out.
can you open carry a loaded weapon in incorporated places in NC? around here (Southern Oregon) most cops don't mind seeing and open carry as long as it is perceptively unloaded within city limits. Out in the country you can walk around with a cocked n locked M4 slinged on your shoulder and they'll only ask how well it shoots.SEREMAKER wrote:

yep .......... as long there are no signs or the owner doesn't mind, then you can freely enter a establishment with a loaded weaponReciprocity wrote:

Unfortunately I live in WI and I swear the government is from a different planet. Stupid governor has vetoed conceal carry twice.SEREMAKER wrote:

And no, not those guns they fire at horseraces.
When I'm 18, I'm wondering:
1) Can I get a license to conceal? Is it possible?
2) What's the best place to get a gun from?
3) What's a good starter gun?
4) What accessories, if any, should I get?

Thanks in advance
2: Black Market/MAFIA/gangstaAas
3: I'm thinking M249 SAW, M16A4, M124 minigun, M2 .50 or a RPG-7
4: Probably an M203, or maybe some tear gas, I heard C4 dropped 5$
Wow. The world has gone to shit. Kids feeling safer with handguns and wanting to conceal them.
This world wont last much longer.
I live in knife, murder and rape capital of Europe yet I am still alive without a gun or knife handy.
