yes there is. It's called remote assistance and is built into XP/vista

Mirosofts site
once upon a midnight dreary, while i pron surfed, weak and weary, over many a strange and spurious site of ' hot  xxx galore'. While i clicked my fav'rite bookmark, suddenly there came a warning, and my heart was filled with mourning, mourning for my dear amour, " 'Tis not possible!", i muttered, " give me back my free hardcore!"..... quoth the server, 404.

Real VNC allowes you to see his desktop and move his mouse around and vice versa. Download the free version.

RealVNC provides remote control software which lets you see and interact with desktop applications across any network.

you'll have to open/forward some ports on your firewall for vnc or remote assistance to work.

Would MSN not be able to UPnP it?

BTW, I've never had it work.

I suggest using LogMeIn. I use it daily and my brother uses it professionally for business and it has never flawed either of us. Offers full access to any computer assuming you have its passcode (and it has LogMeIn installed) - check it out

It's like being right at the computer you are "LogMeIn'ing" - only a little colour disorientated!
