AOL is dead. Nobody needs it. Except for the internet, the company is screwed. After Netscape there was no way it was going to survive the onslaught of more pioneering and ingenius companies ( Mozilla, being one of them ). The takeover will not "thwart" MS. Their power in the computing world is overwhelming.

i had a friend who had the internet service, it was shockingly bad (slow, constant disconnects, yatta yatta) for broadband
they were also very reluctant to let them leave lol
Damn between MS or AOL, Yahoo should just sink their servers down in the bottom of the Atlantic. Is Google waiting to buy Yahoo for a cheaper price or not interested?
