I got a job working in a store cause for the first time ever I had no money on my bank account (food at school drains shitloads of money) so I also want to spend some money on new stuff on my computer, I feel like my 8800GTS isn't performing at its potential rate and maybe i got to get better RAM. Well you tell me

Motherboard: MSI P965 Neo
RAM: 2x1GB DDR2 675HMz
Graphic Card: 8800GTS
CPU: Intel Core 2 Duo 6400 2.13GHz
Sound: Xtreme Gamer X-fi
HDD: 250GB

CPU should be OCed to at least 3.0Ghz. So get a better aftermarket cooler for the CPU if you don't have one already. Thats it.

I have some huge Coolmaster cooler for it, temp never goes above 50°C

But I don't want to OC cause I don't have any experience in it and I can just imagine the stuff that could go wrong x_x

Then you will need to buy a new processor.

Don't raise the VCore over 0.15v, and nothing's gonna go wrong.
The idea of any hi-fi system is to reproduce the source material as faithfully as possible, and to deliberately add distortion to everything you hear (due to amplifier deficiencies) because it sounds 'nice' is simply not high fidelity. If that is what you want to hear then there is no problem with that, but by adding so much additional material (by way of harmonics and intermodulation) you have a tailored sound system, not a hi-fi. - Rod Elliot, ESP

One of these is your processor:

http://processorfinder.intel.com/detail … Spec=SL9T9

Don't let your voltage go above 1.5v. In your bios, there should be an option to change this. Even if you set it to 1.5v, voltage droop will not let it get that high. Monitor your temps and make sure it doesn't go above 61.4°C, according to this.

It's difficult to damage your cpu nowadays. Most motherboards can detect if you are using too much voltage or if you set the frequencies to high and will refuse to boot in order to save your cpu. That doesn't mean set whatever clocks you feel like it though.

Not good enough!

My E6600 OCed to 3.4 GHz (43% overclock) runs at 40°C at full load. (Asus Silent Square cooler)

Also, which GTS card is it? 380, 640 or 512 MB version?

@PBA 512MB

Care to tell me how i overclock a CPU? Do i need some programs and how much should i OC?

Go into your bios.

Change the bus speed in small increments (I did 25MHz) at a time.

Here's a simple how-to on overclocking C2D and C2Q's:

Let me know if you need help.

I pushed mine to 4.0ghz instantly (3.0 default). Just check different forums if anyone has the same specs and same OC.
