so getting promoted will be easier?  Ive been thinking about that and it does make sense, to me at least.  Say a gold is worth three times as much as a bronze and two times as much as a silver.  Then badges like expert and veteran would work the same way.  Just a thought.

P.S. who thinks of all this computer jargon? What does pwned mean?  if it means owned like ive heard people say.... your spelling is a little off.  Just another thought.

I'm for this....It should only be worth like 10-15 points for gold, 6-9 for silver, and 3-5 for bronze.
And then medals and stuff could be worth like 30.

a gold medal 10 points worth? cool, 5000 points more for me
joking aside, i think it would just help the really good players to gather more points - most people do not get medals very often - what would help them 100 points per month?

Viper you have a good point man.  Good Idea.

i dont like the idea so much but i think you should be rewarded for having the highest scores.

ie. for every category you win like flag capture, assist, kill assist, armor, and tow shoudl get you extra points that would then effect who won the golds and silvers.

but rewarding people for already winning is kinda weak. it lets the rich get richer.

but being an overall good player and winning repairs and tow, vs tank whoring would be rewarded, as the tank whore could only really win one category...armor.

I have actually thought for a while that a 3rd ending screen would be nice that listed any promotions, medals, badges, and ribbons at the end.  There might not be time with the other two score and stats screens, but it would be neat to have a list:

|60|Cobalt was promoted to Colonel.  Congratulations, Colonel.
PFCStenzel has earned the veteran sniper badge
LSD_Wash has earned a 23rd Purple Heart.  Congrats!

The little text that scrolls by usually goes unnoticed (by me anyway).  A silly little addition but it might be fun.

No extra points for medals or strength categories.  That would add soooooo many points to each round.  But it would be a good idea to get extra points for badges and ribbons.  maybe 25 points for basic badges, 50 for veteran, and 100 for expert.  And all ribbons could award you 100 points as well.

Nah, I think they should just lower requirements for ranks, badges and stuff and add like 50 more medals and ribbons for various things so you get awards more often yet you never run out of awards to get. Also make extra levels of badge awards, one level required for each rank up rather than the current 3 (basic, vet, and expert).

Also, I think unlocks should go with the veteran badge rather than the rank, i.e. you get the veteran assault badge and you get to unlock the G3. You buy SF and you also get to unlock the F2000. It took forever to get all of my unlocks and I don't think that a family man with kids and a job or a full time college student should have to play all hours of the night just to finally get to enjoy an unlock. It's sickening what EA did with them.

I think it makes sense for the Gold/Silver/Bronze, but perhaps not for the others. Personally I have always felt that there should be some reward for the winning team based upon how many tickets they won by. If they win by 1-0 vs 256-0 that is very different. I'd suggest each member of the winning team receive 10% of their remaining tickets. So, if your team wins by 100 then you get 10 extra points.

Obviously the problem with this would be that it would encourage team switching and other negative behavior. Same as it did in the early days when people would try to mutiny the winning commander at the end of the round with the hope that they could take the spot and get the x2 points - this was, of course, before they realized the x2 only applied to the points you received as commander.

But, I do think the winning team should get something extra. Unless you are going after the War College Ribbon, winning a round means nothing.

Yeah, all good valid points.  EA/DICE can add 'BAM (badges, awards or ribbons, medals)' points at the end of every game.  The percent rule is a good idea too.  I'm sure DICE and EA have all thought of these topics but try to figure out the pros and cons of them as well.  We'll just have to wait and see.

Gold - 10 pts
Silver - 6 pts
Bronze - 3 pts (Added to Teamwork score? or Combat? Or a new category - Awards Score?)

Badges:
Basic - 10
Veteren - 25
Expert - 50

Ribbons:
'One Rounders' (Crew Service, Airborne Ribbon, Armored Service, etc) - 20 pts
Over Time (Distinguished Service, Good Conduct, Infantry Officer,) - 50 pts
Elite Ribbons: Legion of Merit, Valorous Service, and War College - 100 pts each

Medals: 250 each (they all require > 250 hours playing)

Purple Heart: -5 (heh heh heh)

Top Scores Category: (AKA Capture Assists, KDAs, Best Assault class, after each round) 10 pts each

Top Squad: 25 pts per member, 50 pts for the leader (doubled if that team wins the round?)

These seem like good numbers to me (and anything is better than 0 right)
Points should be added after the round is over so they don't get like a Legion of Merit and automatically get gold as well.

I know the whole idea is just a suggestion, but I like my numbers

Edit: Also, if a player was very good and had created a new account, they could jump to corporal in a matter of hours so they don't have to spend too long trying to get unlocks which they would probably miss

to insure that people don't rake in medals at 16 person servers you should run it this way:

bronze: get some small fraction of a point for each person in the server
silver: get that fraction of a point x 2
gold: get that fraction of a point x3

as for giving points for being the top of some class at the end of the round, you would be able to inflate points too easily again by playing in small servers and getting guaranteed point boosts without competition. so let's not go crazy - the idea will just float down the toilet of absurdity if you make the idea inpractical and are giving out too many points

but you could give out points for attaining some of the badges as well. getting points for expert armor seems pretty ridiculous because by the time you've spent 400 hours in armor you're already going to have more points than almost every other player. but maybe you should get a point boost for ribbons and medals (even though the same thing would apply to some of the medals).

you may be right there. I still wish there was some recognition for those top class and such, even if it was just like some mini-badge or ribbon (The Assault Recognition Ribbon is awarded to Personel who performed excellently in the role of Assault Infantry, etc etc etc.)

yeah i'm with you there
i play 64 person servers exclusively and i get top sniper 19 out of 20 times i play in that role and i have been getting it for four or five months. it's would be neat if they tallied that if not even give you an award for it. they could even make it so it's worked on some system where it tallies how many other people of that class there were during that game and you get that number acredited to you when you get top in that role per round, then you get the award when you reach a certain number of credits.

I also think there needs to be more reward for winning a round than for the cmndr. Maybe if it added to every player's score it would inspire more teamwork instead of just playing for score (like the Karkand Hotel battles, which usually end in one side getting tons of points but the other still winning.), because winning would be worth more, the more tickets the more points you have (maybe even a 1:1 ratio of tickets to added score, although that may be excessive)

The legacy of pwned is simply, it was a typo from people in online games or IRC boards typing too fast,

They wanted to say owned but since the O and P are so close, they sometimes slipped, giving birth to: Pwn in all its glorious forms, such as Pwnage,Pwned, etc.

How about like a 1.2 multiplier for having the highest teamwork score. Or 10 extra points for having defended the most flags. There's many little modifications they could do that would encourage people to work more as a team. They could also do a .8 multiplier for being in a plane/chopper/tank the whole round (not for highest score using these cause that would be unfair). This would let other people get a chance to use these vehicles and discourage whorage.

But then again, they could just let us all play the game however we want and find our own ways of getting the most enjoyment out of it.

extra points for teamplaying will not dissuade whoring and such - it only encourages teamplay and winning. If there is a multiplier for highest teamwork though, there would have to be one for combat also - I know a lot of teamwork score comes from medic whoring >_< and a lot of combat could be counted as teamwork - as an APC spawncamping is also covering fire, keeping enemies scared and out of sight to be taken out by infantry for those that escape the APC. If you run down an alley and kill 3 people with an assault rifle how many allies did you save that might otherwise have been killed by those 3?

I don't think a negative multiplier for spending the round in armor would be fair - in my clan server I spend a lot of time in armor; it seems a lot of people prefer to run around and kill, so sometimes the tank and both APCs are unoccupied and I know how important a role armor plays in all maps, so with me on armor you can be sure it will be used to the best extent

I've never been complained at for being an armor whore, but if I was I would step down (after dieing of course)
