Crashes Galore

So, I start up, slow as hell, takes 3-5 minutes for the computer to be "usable"

When it is "usable" I get spammed with messages

C:\... Runtime something or other stopped working

Privoxy Stopped working, LCD control panel stopped working, etc.

I launch firefox, click google, says its loaded, nothing loads.

Says im connected to the internet, have tried IE, FF, and Safari... Same thing, I close the program, and it says, "FF/IE/Safari Stopped Working" (well no shit)

So, WTF?!

This computer works fine!

Update Fail?

I will be restoring it but I seriously need my computer RIGHT NOW (Programs, word docs) for School

This happened before

Any Ideas?

I restored to Tuesday Afternoon, works...

Ill UPDATE in about 1.5 weeks...

Just restore it man, Restore it

edit: Restore through Windows, not restore through boot and CD...

can't restore when the system crashes when you click "next" at system restore lol. I can't even avoid crashing long enough to copy any files.

nah, doesn't work....safe mode even is crashraped.

i had to manually replace an internet explorer file to have windows even start. I'm gonna go mac methinks

Reformat. Stick the HD in another computer, copy files, reformat.

Can't be that hard.

The idea of any hi-fi system is to reproduce the source material as faithfully as possible, and to deliberately add distortion to everything you hear (due to amplifier deficiencies) because it sounds 'nice' is simply not high fidelity. They called me a gimp for not using a mac, damn Portlandian folk. Actually this has been the most difficult computer error I've ever encountered. I am using a raid array, so putting them in another computer (that I own) will not work. The computer I'm on is from 2001. Anyways, I can't even avoid the constant crashing and failures after a reinstall. I formated the drives, they are healthy by all my chkdsk and raid utility inquiries. This is perplexing, and I want to go hit for hit with Bill Gates right about now.
