If you like to play games, then just do it. We all live once, not twice, it's better to enjoy being alive rather than living a life which you're not the owner of your behaviours.
Yeah but these guys are saying its wrecking their lives and their futures.

You need to start windsurfing and rockclimbing. That's more fun and will get You in shape.

Here's the plan:
1. Rent a cheap apartment.
2. Work fulltime for 1 year and save up 5000 US$.
3. Travel around Africa/India/South America for 1 year (backpacking).
4. Study a degree
5. Surf/climb in Your spare time with Your study mates.
6. When Your totally exusted from studying/surfing/climbing play some BF2.
7. Find a hot surf chick and marry.
8. Buy a Ford Mustang V8
9. Get a sailing boat and cruise around the coast in the weekends with Your family.
10. Save up for Your retirement.
11. Showoff to Your grandchildren when the shout: Granddad I wanna see You pwn!

I think it's a good plan!
You're young so You can basicly do anything You like.

backpacking for a year with only 5000 dollars is pretty much impossible.

You need to find something else that you take pleasure from. Ideally, something that is productive, but anything that is less harmful to your real life than gaming is good.

You are already on the right track by realizing that you have an addiction. We all know how the addiction works, whenever you are faced with the prospect of real life responsibility, your mind immediately looks to gaming because it is an easy distraction. The next time you feel the computer calling you, think about how you feel after hours of gaming. If you are anything like me, you feel almost guilty for wasting so much time. Then you need to think about how you feel after you accomplish something worthwhile. If you are anything like me, you feel good because you know you did something meaningful. After thinking about it like that, you probably wont be so enthusiastic to game.

You arent hopeless, you recognize your problem, and you have the power to get your life on track.

You'll trade in one addiction for the other though, it can be quite as damaging too and I won't even start about the "rewarding" aspect

Hey i once played with you in bf2. Right, try not to concentrate too much time on pc games cause they do you no good, i have realised that and now i only play bf2 now and then to provide entertainment.
