Well, I totally just accidently deleted almost all of my music...

I found a "Music" Folder on my desktop, and I deleted it. Because I thought it was an old backup that I pulled my other music from when iTunes got wiped a long while back

Turns out thats where iTunes pulled ALL of my music

And I just deleted it

Someone told me a long while back that if you know what your doing you can recover any folder

Is this true? And if so how can I?

Ermmm I'm guessing the file was to big to be stored in the recycle bin so was permanently deleted. If that's the case, you're sorted of screwed, because as far as I know there is no way to retrieve permanently deleted data.

You are. You can't restore deleted files in a system recovery.

2) google a deleted data restoration program
3) acquire said program
4) recover your music

yeah, if you delete stuff it just 'severs the ties'. the data is still there, but it will be ignored.

I've recovered a lot from crashed harddiscs. Best program: Ontrack Easyrecovery 6.01
You can recover a lot since You haven't formatted the disc.
Get a new dics, install Ontrack on it and recover.
You can find it cracked on p2p programs.

Free version is good for about 500 songs or so, but you could find the full version from somwhere *cough* torrent *cough*

This would definitely be the easiest solution. Use a program to put the songs from you iPod back onto your computer. Hopefully your entire collection is on the iPod...

You can manually go into the drive, and pull all the audio files off, or you can use the programs as the people above suggested. If you pull off the audio files, the names of the files will be numbered weird. However, your track titles and artists when played in iTunes will show up normal.

i know how to get the files off the iPod, but where do I find the files from my library that I deleated and selected the option keep files?

All that windows does when you delete files is mark them as "overwriteable" and removes them from view. So technically, your data is still there, unless you overwrote it with more data.

This is why data is still recoverable from drives after reformatting. To completely erase data, you have to overwrite your drive with blank data.

yeah freeundelete or something like that. Best is even to put the HD on another computer as secondary disk so you don't have your OS writing stuff on it. Anyway the more you download and install now on that disk, the less music you'll be able to recover.
