Gears. Well, sorta since it's an auto. Park, Neutral, Drive, Reverse, Drive 1, Drive 2.

EDIT: Drive 2 and 1 will be (lower? or higher, I never get it the right way around) range gears for hills etc that the regular gearbox doesn't like.

Oh right, I see what you mean. Probably be buttons on the stearing column, or paddles.

Looks like it's on the steering wheel to me. Not paddles on the side, but actually buttons. Not sure. More computer than car if you ask me

Loads of cars use the ol' sequential paddles these days. I've seen it on quite a few normal cars too.

"Paddles"

or there could be an option on the side where you tap the rod (as on my parents ml550)

Care to let us know exactly where you select gears then?

The new Jag uses the same kind if centre console button thing (the little silver button) to select gears, so that might be it.

Edit: Isn't it just those little silver square/rectangle buttons on the top half of the steering wheel?

i work for bmw

paddles annoy me on regular steering wheels, theyre good on proper racing steering wheels though like in F1, where its not a wheel but more of a .... rectangle

730Li is the V8 isnt it, 750  or 755 or something is 6L V12

the 730i is the 6 cylinder, the 740i/750i is the 8 cylinder and the 760i is the 12 cylinder.

EDIT: the "gear lever" are the silver buttons on the steering wheel

once upon a midnight dreary, while i pron surfed, weak and weary, over many a strange and spurious site of ' hot  xxx galore'. While i clicked my fav'rite bookmark, suddenly there came a warning, and my heart was filled with mourning, mourning for my dear amour, " 'Tis not possible!", i muttered, " give me back my free hardcore!"..... quoth the server, 404.
