i just bought a 22in widescreen samsung monitor and i cant change the res to the max for a wide screen were can i find the file to change that ?
The max resolution depends on your graphics card capabilities and the maximum your monitor will support. You really don't want to increase it any higher than the native because you run the risk of damaging it.
ok, is there a way to reset my profile because i think bf2 only sees my old monitor settings.
What graphic card do you have?
main battle tank karthus medikopter 117 megamegapowershot gg
O you want to change the resolution of BF2?

There are a range of commands - mainly designed for servers running BF2 - which can be activated via the BF2 command line. You can use these commands by going to your main Battlefield 2 shortcut you use to launch the game, right-click on it and select Properties. Then in the Target box, after the "C:\Program Files\EA Games\Battlefield 2\BF2.exe" +menu 1 +fullscreen 1 text, insert another space, then use any of the commands below. Each command must have a single space between it and the next command.
For example, one of the most commonly requested commands is to run BF2 in 1280x1024 resolution (or another custom resolution) - particularly for LCD displays which display the best image at their native resolution. To do this, change your command line to look like this:
"C:\Program Files\EA Games\Battlefield 2\BF2.exe" +menu 1 +fullscreen 1 +szx 1280 +szy 1024
Note the addition of the +szx and +szy commands which respectively set the width and height of the resolution to be used. Substitute other values for other resolutions (e.g. +szx 1900 +szy 1200). Also note that as of the 1.03 Patch, 1280x1024 is now a supported resolution and can be selected within the in-game settings, so you don't need to use the +szx/+szy commands to force it anymore.
The easiest way is to go into My Documents -> Battlefield 2 -> Profiles. Then take everything out of the folder and put it on your desktop and fire up BF2. It will create default profiles so you'll be able to modify from scratch. If you have certain settings that you want the same, like the game controls, just replace the new controls file with the old one.
will this work for SF aswellBeerzGod wrote:

the native res of your 22 inch widescreen is most likely 1680x1050

Yeah because your Special Forces profiles are saved in that BF2 profile aswell.killinzero1 wrote:

ok, i tried clearing the profiles and it didn't give me the option for wide screen res. but i try doing what Nessie09 and i couldn't find the edit portion
what is the max res for the TV and your GPU ?
BF2 does not support any widescreen resolution.killinzero1 wrote:

BF2 doesn't allow widescreen res (they think it gives an unfair advantage) but you can work around this by doing what Nessie said:killinzero1 wrote:

Right click your BF2 icon on the desktop, under the target location, enter this:
"C:\Program Files\EA Games\Battlefield 2\BF2.exe" +menu 1 +fullscreen 1 +szx 1280 +szy 1024"
Replace 1280 with 1680 and replace 1024 with 1050 and it should be perfect. If you installed BF2 anywhere other than the default location, you will have to change that.
EDIT: damn, beat me to it! ^^^
