School rank means SFA. I was in the bottom 10% of my school, yet the top 10% of the state (and country).
My friend (who went to another school), was in the top 1% of his school, yet I beat him on the state wide tests.

We don't have class rank or GPA rating over here. However I managed to graduate from high school as the first of my year. Pretty good feeling knowing you did better than 120 other people.

any kid taking smarter classes could easily come in middle of the class, where as the kids taking dumbed down easy classes could easily be in the near the top

true, I came second (out of 35 I think, too long ago to remember properly) in my graduating class. For my IB I took higher level physics, math, chemistry and economics, did German (A2) standard level and because I was the only one with standard level English (A1) I had to do that in HL as well . The girl that beat me had HL english, russian and art; math, biology and economics SL. She had it so much easier. Damn her ...Locoloki wrote:
