Dextan Thomas Hodge, 37, of Miami, admitted after his arrest that he'd stolen the gas from Petro-Chemical Transport eight times "for extra money," according to a police report.
He is charged with grand theft and dealing in stolen property, said Miami-Dade police spokesman Detective Juan Villalba.Hodge filled up some 5-gallon tanks and the vehicles of several drivers who pulled into the location, selling a total of 100 gallons, according to Villalba.
One man told investigators he'd been buying gas from Hodge at $2.00 per gallon for about three months, the report said.
