More of the same.

Religion is just a pretext to wage war.

Without religion, the wackos of this planet would find another reason to fight.

Fixed.

The fact that it has been used for evil purposes does not make religion inherently bad.

I'll agree to that.  Religion is ultimately a tool and a tool can neither be good or bad.  A hammer is not evil because someone slaughtered their children with it.  It's not the hammer's fault.

Well, a hammer is made of inanimate metals and wood. Religion is made of people, and people most certainly can be good or bad.

a religion is NOT those people however.  People subscribe to a religion, their nature does not in itself define it.  People do explicitly define the construct of the religion I'll grant you so it is made BY people, but not necessarily OF people.  Hammers are also made by people, but a hammer made by Hitler, Charles Manson or Jack the Ripper would not be itself evil - it would still just be a hammer.

more of the same.

you can't say that lack of religion would have prevented the crusades or modern day terrorism, people would just have to be more honest about their real motives.

Yes it does. It makes it bad for humans. Just like certain drugs. Just because alcohol sitting there on its own isn't bad, doesn't mean that it's not bad for us.
