I know when I had one as a kid mine started to go all fucked up after a while and refused to play games. it crushed my spirit not being able to play it. But it turns out if you still have one you can fix it for a couple of pounds.

Sweet! I still play the SNES actively. I remember the very first time I played it too - Mario Kart, naturally. (perhaps that's what got me into racing!) I play Mario Kart to this day on it. Although I'm also a big Mario Kart Wii fan.
