So yeah, my account was suspended for 30 days for "feedback manipulation"

This is because of their new stance that digital items are only good for manipulating feedback, because they can be reproduced for little to no cost.

I bought a bunch of digital items with the intent to resell them, but now they have a rule that all digital items must be listed as a classified ad, and the transaction take place outside of ebay (I thought that was against their policy?)

All this happened before I even heard of the new rule, much less before it was in effect, now it seems they are retroactively punishing anyone who bought digital items in the past. WTF?

I had my E6700 and my X-Fi Xtremegamer on there, they sold, but I was awaiting payment, now I assume it is all null and void, and the people won't pay, so now I have to hang on to these for 30 days until I can sell them again....

Not tech items, digital items, like a wholesale list or an ebook or the likes

And I really don't understand what eBay is thinking, because there were so many digital items listed, they decided it was "feedback manipulation" and took a huge hit in their profits. They make no money from buyers, they make money from sellers, yet they only try to please buyers, not sellers, and they are losing business by doing so.

Ahhh, okay...things like Ebooks and such...Make sense in a way but its pretty damn ghey that they have to punish people who already had sold those things.

yeah I can sorta understand them making new rules, but to punish after the fact for something someone did before there was a rule is ridiculous

Ebay fails  tbh.    Didn't they remove part of the system where you grade your transaction, and no negative ratings can be made?

I thought i read that somewhere.

I don't use Ebay btw.  If I want to sell something...craigslist.  granted you won't get "bids"  But ebay is worthless.

Well they introduced the Detailed seller ratings, where you can get 5 stars. On the page buyers see, it describes 3 stars as good, 4 as excellent, and 5 as outstanding, but they punish sellers who have less than a 4.0 star rating overall. It is completely ludacris.

No, if they didnt please the buyers, the sellers would not sell anything, meaning they would lose a lot more money.

Anyway bad luck on the suspension

Well, yes that is partially true, but they need to work on pleasing buyers and sellers equally, instead of punishing sellers to please the buyers. It is a give and take system, and if you push one side too hard, it will crumble and cause the other side to fail

WOW... so I emailed ebay to see if I could appeal my suspension, and they replied saying "Though we appreciate your response and understand that you may not have
done this intentionally, a violation still occurred and appropriate
action must be taken. Regrettably, the suspension you received is for 30
days. We will not be able to send the conditions for reinstatement until
30 days has passed. Please reply after 30 days. "

So I can't even try to appeal my suspension until after 30 days?

The way I read this, after 30 days I have to try to convince them to remove the suspension, it will not be lifted automatically.

Fuck.

That.
