Ok, good, good. Smart thinking. But I wonder how exactly that will rule God out? If one were to conclude that the theory of evolution were even true, that we came from monkeys, how come there are still monkeys? Surely a species would evolve as a species, not just some. Surely if evolution is to evolve, why are some evolving and others not?
because species don't evolve in a direct line. if that were true then there would only be a single species living at any one time.
evolution is a branch, a human is not a direct decendent of a gorilla. we just have a common ancestor.
anyway i don't think god will ever be disproved or at least not for a very long time.
but even if it was then i'd put my money on that at least 60-80% of people who are religious would ignore the facts since they have already invested so much of their life and money into faith.
a better question would be what if a specific faith was proven correct. hindu would be cool. its way out there, so both christian/muslim/jewish and atheists groups would have a hard time accepting it.
