Hello guys. I want to post something helpful, so, here we go:
Avast Antivirus blocks loads of steam games, especially DoD:S and CS:S.
Avast will show you a message like they found a trojan ect, even if you don't want it to block the trojan it will.
Next time steam wants to update one of your games, you wont be able to do that, an error message will show up saying: Unable to open steam.dll or something similar (may be different from computer to computer)
Well, even when you block Avast the steam games will still not load. You gotta delete it.
It took me some time to figure out that avast fucks steam.dll, google hadn't had any good results so I deleted steam and reinstalled all games but they still didn't work. I hope this can help you and google searchers, hopefully.
PS: If they still wont load even after deleting avast, delete the 'steam.dll' file. Don't worry, it will rebuild itself when you restart steam the next time.
edit: Wrong section. FAIL
