We all know it will be here very soon.  April 29th to be exact.  Well I was doing some research last tonight and came across a XP SP3 FAQ and was suprised to find out... its only for x86 version of the OS.  I guess its cause it is based off of server 2003.  Looks like i'm getting Vista x64.

2. Is Windows XP x64 supported by XP SP3?

No. XP SP3 is addressed exclusively at the x86 versions of Windows XP. In the first half of 2007, Microsoft serviced both Windows Server 2003 and Windows XP Professional x64 Edition with the release of Windows Server 2003 SP2.
Well there are more answers to some SP3 question here too but I am very disappointed.

32 bit XP is just better than 64 bit in the same way XP is better than Vista; more software compatibility.

He is saddened by a the fact a service pack not for his OS won't work with his OS.

FYI, 32-bit users have been waiting 4 years for this SP. You have waited less than a year.

Well just mostly performance increase.  I may still switch back to XP because w/ vista I lose 1k off my 3dmark06 score.

I find that 64bit OS runs 10x better than 32bit OS.  Its much faster all around than 32bit.  My computer only takes 8-10 seconds to boot fully.  Yes there are SOME driver issues for some people but for the most part if your hardware was made in the past 4 years there are drivers for 64bit OS. I will never got back to 32bit OS.

I can wait till nVidia finally release the new drivers for the 8, 7, and 6 series cards.  I've been beta testing the 174.74 drivers for Vista x64 for the past month almost and now i'm have the same ones install for XP x64.  I think they did have an impact though on performance in XP x64.
