As some of you know, I am a die hard Barcelona fan... So I was pretty gutted at the 0-0 score tonight. But, I am ( I think ) an unbiased commentator when it comes to these kind of games... I will criticise my team till death if they play shit, because it's the truth.
But, before we being the rant.
This is why Ronaldo is not the best player in the world
and
This is why Messi is.
I have yet to see Ronaldo appear in a European match and do something amazing, good or score a belter. Against a decent team, that is.
The game was controlled by Barca who seemed to ben slightly better than their pathetic ( and consecutive ) performances in the League.
Whilst Milito had a shocker, Messi and Iniesta were causing problems for Manchester on the other site.
Manchester United, as always, showed a stable and excellent defence; acting as a wall to Barcelonas attacking efforts. On the other side, Barcelonas defence didn't need to do much as neither Rooney nor Ronaldo were achieving much. Marquez, as usual, grabs another yellow card and becomes the clumsiest guy to play on the Barcelona side. I do not deny that he is solid when he needs to be, but he is stupid when he isn't supposed to be.
Van Der Sar was solid, as always. Scholes, as usual.... commanding yet excessive when it came to force - flooring Eto'o with no real other intention than to nail him.
The "OMG SHOULD HAVE BEEN A PENALTI" were utter bullshit. Yes, Iniesta shoved a hard tackle and Toure was clumsy on the edge... but neither deserved a penalti. Toures was soft, and as usual, Ronaldo goes down with ease. Iniestas was dumb, but so were half the tackles done on Messi and Eto'o, and nothing was given for them. Fair's fair.
Eto'o was unlucky to put his chances away, and Bojan came on with a delightful "danger face" on. He is incredible, nobody can deny that.
Henry was the surprising man here; he probably caused Man.U the most problems. Creating several chances in the space of 2 minutes... he did well to do so, but failed at finishing... soft shots on his part.
Excellent football to watch, some of the best this year... sadly, Barcelona are fucked for the away game.
