So I bought a laptop a while back ago from Toshiba that had windows vista installed on it. I'd heard some bad things about Vista but decided to give it a try anyways...didn't like it. So I decided to install windows XP on it. The only problem is that XP does not recognize my hard drive when I try re-installing so there is no way for me to do it. So after searching the internet I found out about slipstreaming a driver. I tried it and it didn't work for me. So I decided, what the hell, why not give linux a try, and i downloaded and installed ubuntu linux. Everything works fine except for one rather irritating thing...the damn OS won't even recognize my wireless (my feeling is that the kernel is not recognizing the I/O address of the card nor the interrupt address but whatever) Now I'm figuring, what is I were to re-install ubuntu to only use have the hard drive, and using Wine, install windows XP on the second partition through ubuntu.
So, in short...(sorry for the long story)...is it possible for me to install windows xp on another partition through linux using wine?
