Couple of days ago my Uncle had a heart attack. It was caused by a blockage in one of his arterys. Last night he was in Intensive Care, and they're trying to get the fluid out of his lungs so they can lay him down to get a baloon inflated in his artery to ease the blockage. Only found out today as my parents didn't want to tell me untill they knew more. The really shit thing? He's only 51. Makes me wish I'd spent more time with him. Also makes me want to live life properly, and stop wasting it.
That sucks
Sorry to hear that
Sorry to hear that
Sorry to hear that Finny. I hope he recovers xx
sorry to hear that!
Allot of things now contrubite to shorter life spans, Such as lung condtions such as smoking and drinking. Excersising 30 minites a day will help save your life at least a few years if you do it daily, for months.
Sorry agen

If he's 51 then he still has a fair chance, if he was older then it'd be really bad.
Oh yeah and if he did die I would probably say a cruel joke but since he is of the living I'll refrain.

Sorry to hear that. Hope he gets better.
The good news is that the fact that he is still alive now after the attack (according to what I've read he has been "okay" for a few days now?) then he has a much higher chance of living. The most important thing is not to cause a second heart attack.
Hope you are okay!

Sorry to hear that, at least he is alive. My dad was 51 when he died of a heart attack.

Yeah, heart troubles run in my family. My dad has an irregular heart-beat and has to get the defibs a few times a year. Uncle had this, grandad had two heart attacks and three strokes before he died.
So I'm fucked lol.
I'm sorry to hear that.
Hope he gets better soon.

My Uncle died of that super bug you get from a hip replacement thing, MRSA or whatever.
This was like one or two years ago though.

Funky, sorry to hear the sad news I was only listening to the radio earlier and they were explaining about the artery/ballon thing, quite remarkable. They also now use bone marrow to unblock the blockage aswell. I'm sure your Uncle is in safe hands and I wish you all well at this hard time.
I learned that lesson you speak of with my Mum and yes life is too short and no matter how bad you think things are there is somehow someone always worse off. First chance you get, tell him you love him.

Sorry to hear of that man. You most definately have to tell your loved ones how much they mean to you. EVERY DAY. My father recently passed away from a heart attack. I got a call at word from my mother on the cell phone, after they called 911, and were waiting for the ambulance, I could hear my father gasping for air, and ultimately, his last breath over my cell phone. It's something that I'll never forget for the rest of my life, and has deeply affected me in terms of how I treat others. Just let them know every friggin' day, because when it's over, you'll be kicking yourself in the ass for the rest of your life. I had the opportunity to talk to my dad the morning that he passed, and I cut him short because I wanted to be early for work. Worst move ever.
If Cheney has two more then he will have broken his record . Hey, your Grandad is already dead, so I can make fun of him.jamiet757 wrote:

But I do hope your Unlce recovers, dying sucks (which is why I joke about dead people)
Yeah, my dad had a heart attack around that age...and a pretty damn good one with something like two of the arteries being blocked more then 90%
Medicine is pretty good now, My dad has came pretty damn close to springing back to normal even though his was bad enough to keep him in the hospital a couple of weeks.
Hopefully things will work out for the best.

Being in front of the computer doesn't help you out pal, go get some exercise and avoid to eat fast food as much as possible.Funky_Finny wrote:

Does your uncle have arteriosclerosis ?
I know.. I excersise at least 5 times a week in P.E, and fifteen minute walk to and from school, so I think I'm okay.Yaocelotl wrote:

Not a clue what that big word is.
I was gutted when my Mum died I never ever thought it would happen but it did, until the Dr's pulled me aside and told me today will be her last day I didnt believe it. Even though I was distraught I was grateful that I was with her and kissed her good night and secondly she was My Mum and I only had to share her with my Sisters and no one else.howler_27 wrote:

Howler - I am ever so sorry it happened like that for you it's a cruel world when we loose our parents but even more cruel in the way you lost your Dad. The cruelest cards I have ever seen dealt are babies dying while mine overcame her probems and a very close friend loose a 9 month old baby, that funeral was harder than my Mums. Your supposed to bury your parents not your kids.
All you can do from these wank situations is try and learn and be stronger really.
There is no shame in going up to your Mum or Dad and just saying "Hi, I love you" before you get on with your day.
my dad jus went under the knife again yesterday, he has a form of skin cancer, its not malinoma, but the one right below it, think it starts with an E, can't remember what its called though. It does make you think about shit, and how short life can be, especically seeing as he is only 49. I am 26 now and i am sure if it got any more serious, my mother would tell me about it, cuz he would never admit it, but it does make you think.
