I'm still warring with myself about whether or not to get this. I like the Conan universe, and the only MMO I'm really interested in afterwards is WH40K online.
I suppose it really isn't all that much money. I haven't been playing MMO's beyond betas and trials anyway.
I'm not one for MMORPG. The only RPG l liked was Stalker. However the Warhammer 40000 sounds like it could be good. I got a small bit of it in my PC Gamer mag.
"As the fantasy Warhammer MMORPG nears compleation, the first news breaks on its sci-fi cousin. So far we have just the bare facts. The barest of which is, it will be an MMORPG, rather than a massively multiplayer FPS as some had hoped. The combat system will be oriented arpound cover, suppressive fire and flanking, and firefights will take place on a larger scale than those planned for warhammer:Age of Reckoning. "The term 'Battleground' takes on an entirely different meaning," Vigil Games General Manager David Adams says, slyly implying they plan to outdo World of Warcraft's largest PvP arenas. Players can (but don't have to) form squads, the basic infantry fighting unit of the tabletop game. Creative director Joe Madureria claims that "All of the races important to Warhammer 40,000 lore ( Not to mention the fans) will be represented." That's extremely encouraging, considering how well loved the oft-omitted Tyranids are by Warhammer fans. "We want each and every race to have weight in the world," he continues," and feel distinct." Players will get to explore cities, alien temples, chaos shrines, deserted battlefields (er, woo?), mysterious ruins, ancient structures, and here's the cool one "drifting hulks in space". Space hulks, we call those. When it comes to your own character, Vigil are particulary confident- cocky, even. Joe promises "Tons of stuff hanging off your character, weapons, scrolls... we are going to have going to have the coolest looking characters of any MMO, ever. Once we begin releasing images, feel free to call me on that."(Cocky cunt-The Guardsman) Don't worry we will".
Theres no screen shots yet just concept art. I'd thought l'd put it in here as there is'nt really much on it to warrent its own thread. Publisher is THQ, Developer Vigil Games and ETA Summer 2009.
If this game looks any good l might be willing to part cash for it and batter bods as a Space Marine!
