They own/ rent the servers, they put in a ridiculous amount of time to keep the site running smooth, they can do what ever the hell they want.
Think of it this way. The forums are their house, which they are gracious enough to allow us to use freely with very minimalistic rules. But when you cross their line, it doesn't matter what you, or other people, think is fair. They own it, their letting us use it, they make the rules, they make the decisions, we don't complain.

stupid example to say that if you create a forum, you want people to share opinions with you and between themselves. if you won't accept other people's opinions, and ban them if they say things you don't like or if ''you don't like their tone'' then just don't create it, use a mirror.

i'm saying this as a general principle, since i don't know what ollie said, therefore i do not know whether the ban decision was aprropriate or not, but apparently he wasn't directly insulting or flaming someone, so the perma-ban decision seems quite drastic. again it'd be good to know what excactly was said.

In addition to that. The first thing he did after being banned was create a new account and, whilst saying a genuine goodbye, proceeded to spam:

- Example 1
- Example 2
- Example 3 (deleted)
- Example 4

So, because his original account was banned, because he said he's leaving and because his second account has also been banned: This discussion is now over.

In any case, this thread has been sufficiently derailed.
