BF2 in the same room is really fun, no need to worry about TS latencies and other shit, and you can see each other's screens, so it's really easy to point out where the other guy is, wheter it's on your own, or the opposite team.

The idea of any hi-fi system is to reproduce the source material as faithfully as possible, and to deliberately add distortion to everything you hear (due to amplifier deficiencies) because it sounds 'nice' is simply not high fidelity. If that is what you want to hear then there is no problem with that, but by adding so much additional material (by way of harmonics and intermodulation) you have a tailored sound system, not a hi-fi. - Rod Elliot, ESP

We're far enough off topic already. The point is that I want this computer to run BF2, so that me and my friends can have small LANs here. Simple as that. A computer that's supposed to run BF2 doesn't have to be some uber quadcore with 8GB DDR1066 and 9800GX2s in SLi. An Athlon XP 2600+ @ 3400+ speed with a 256MB 6600 AGP is plenty.

I smell what you're stepping in. I have a secondary box that I use for testing, and the grandkids can play their Toon Town game, or BF1942.

I think I got it fixed At least passed the frequent failure point in memtest86 once, gonna leave it over night. The magical numbers are 3-4-4-9 timings at 333MHz/2.7v.
