If for some reason I was unable to find my XP disk, is there any way in which I can reinstall windows XP without losing all of my programs/music etc.

The reason I ask is, I think I have errors in my operating system, is there any way I can test this? I don't have my disk and I think reinstalling windows again will do it good, but I don't know if it's possible.

Non-descrutive reinstall. Get a copy of XP first, as long as you have your product key, you're fine.

I wouldn't recommend repairing XP, as it tends to fuck some things up (Some programs cease to work, Windows Update won't work, etc).

I say, get your hands on a CD, back everything up and reformat.
The idea of any hi-fi system is to reproduce the source material as faithfully as possible, and to deliberately add distortion to everything you hear (due to amplifier deficiencies) because it sounds 'nice' is simply not high fidelity. If that is what you want to hear then there is no problem with that, but by adding so much additional material (by way of harmonics and intermodulation) you have a tailored sound system, not a hi-fi. - Rod Elliot, ESP
