I cant boot it as the main drive, because it needs MS Validation...

And it's setup properly as a slave drive, but it wont show in "My Computer"

Are you sure it's 100% properly connected? Try putting it on it's own IDE cable (assuming it's IDE since you said it's a slave). Unplug your CD-ROM drive and use it's IDE channel and cable.
The idea of any hi-fi system is to reproduce the source material as faithfully as possible, and to deliberately add distortion to everything you hear (due to amplifier deficiencies) because it sounds 'nice' is simply not high fidelity. If that is what you want to hear then there is no problem with that, but by adding so much additional material (by way of harmonics and intermodulation) you have a tailored sound system, not a hi-fi. - Rod Elliot, ESP

the CD is connected by a big ribbony thing, and the HD needs like a smaller plug (the one i have is labelled P9)

You have to set it up, give it a name, etc in Disk Management.

Control Panel -> Administrative Tools -> Computer Management -> Disk Management

(that's for Vista, but I'm sure XP has a very similar process)

So it's a SATA HD?

...

Then it can't be set up as "slave".
