Whats the best up to date C&C game i should buy?
CnC3 and its expansion Kane's Wrath. EA really learned from all the mistakes they made in Gens with CnC3 and it is currently my favorite RTS.

Plus Kane is in it so it is win automatically.
Paz Por Poder.
I can't really call Generals an 'all their mistakes' game. It was a good standalone product. Its primary fault, in my opinion, is that it missed the opportunity to use full motion video cut scenes in what could've been the ultimate cheesy contemporary war RTS.

As to the interface, you have one camp complaining about how different Generals was, and one camp complaining that C&C 3 hasn't really changed...so you can't please everybody.

But nope, haven't beaten Kane's Wrath yet.

Generals was too slow paced for me.  Solid game... just too slow.

I'll just pop in Yuri's Revenge...thanks.

Well the combat was fast enough but having to wait until you have the money to make a down-payment on units and buildings made the game too slow. I'm glad they went back to the pay-as-you-go style of the old CnC games for CnC3 and RA3.

Is this all i can build? How can i upgrade my shit to be bigger and badder? I remember in Red alert you could build SOOOO much stuff.
Yep, thats right. Red Alert had loads of buildings, and if it went late game, you would probably have ~50 + structures and easily 100+ tanks.
That was epic, none of this "20 mammoth tanks > your entire base and army" shit. 20 mammoths in RA stood for jackshit.
I remember a PS1 linkup game that went late game, both me and a friend as Soviets with 4 full squads (units 1, 2, 3 & 4) full of mammoth tanks, and each squad could have a max of about 50 units assigned to it. Now THAT was a game

Yea ive built EVERYthing in that bar all 12 items. There should be more than that!
i got bored with c&c after a while and tried supreme commander.  way more units can be built and upgraded.  bigger battles, more superweapons, etc.  the only drawback is the sci-fi units.  personally i like more modern combat, but SC is definitely worth it if you like those kinds of games.
Try Total Annihlation. Old game, but it was absolutly amazing. There must have been 300+ units if you went about downloading all the unit packs. Starships ftw.

I completely agree. May have even said so in this thread and forgotten about it. Total Annihilation is an amazing game. Way ahead of it's time.

I must've had hundreds of downloaded units.

Edit: Haha:

You have construction bots that can build anywhere. Thats who EA stole the idea from. As far as i'm aware.

I really don't like commanding 100 units at once, its to chaotic, to difficult to tell what is going on, why I never got SC, the battles were to hectic that I was turned off. I also don't really like it when you can have only a handful of units at once (a la CoH and WiC), those games stress microing single units too much, to the point where often there is no macro strategy at all.

Which is why I like the CnC games, they usually have a decent number of units on the field at a time but not too many. This means that macro-strategy and micro-management are both important yet neither is completely dominant.

C&C 1 (1996)  was already same time and the game comes from battle of dune 1 (1992 amiga , sega ) and 2 and from that alott of games Com's , 7e legion , dark colony and 100 More's
but oke the first strategy game was Empire (Amiga) , Empire the luxe (PC)

Total Annihilation is from 1997 there

And I think Total Annihilation was light years ahead of C&C in every way.

There is a ton of macro strategy in World in Conflict, but it never comes out unless you have a properly functioning team.
