Yep, PB kicks the legit people, and lets most hackers roam-free. I don't really blame PB, it's just that people with too much time on their hands are finding ways to cheat.Snake wrote:
I would say that that is more down to punkbusters side and increasing their own security. And we all know that PB fails almost as much as EA.0akleaves wrote:
gtfo of my thread if your going to moan about your stats, i know people who have lost alot more than you and they just made a new account and kept playing as they really love the game.Nikola Bathory wrote:
EA are rich enough, they don't need a donation from me to make a damn patch!
Moreover, since EA reset my stats for no reason and refused to fix them, they aren't getting any more money from my pocket! No, thanks, EA~!!
I reason i was thinking about this is that with all the stats hacks thingy lol EA might be more inclined to make a patch as they need to change somethings to stop name hacks.
PB doesnt check a hell of a lot of the BF2 files (or so it seems)....so making it scan more, in a tradeoff for slightly longer "verifying client data" is worth it IMO....but then I dont have a slow machine
You, sir, will get karma'd for this. I think it would be awesome to either get a new patch or revert or some old ones. I suppose I'd push for a new patch that closely resembled the old ones, with certain changes made. I'd even be willing to chip in a few bucks for it too. Ever since 1.03 finally lost its last 1.03 server back in November, I've kinda hated/loved BF2. I have always enjoyed the game, but 1.41 just wasn't that fun. Maybe it is because there were only a few servers up for 1.03 was what made it fun. There were always people I knew that were on, so perhaps I'm a little biased that way, because I rarely see anyone I know now. As much as I'd be willing to pay for it though, EA could do it for free, and I'm sure it would only take about a week or two to do. I mean, I'm sure they have all the old patch data archived or something, they could just copy over some of the stuff, at least I'd think so anything. I really think EA messed up bad sacking their patch team, because I keep hearing complaints about 1.41 and how nerfed some of this crap is, or how ridiculously good (to the point of being bullshit) other things are.0akleaves wrote:
Right today i got thinking, it cant really cost EA or whoever makes the patches that much to make them, cant be more than what its gaining in revenue for the game.
That got me thinking about donating like $10 or £5 to be able to patch up to a new patch ie like a booster on EA downloaded i mean im sure as hell the game would come alive agian if a proper patch was released and as we know how hungry companys are for money these days they are not going to make a bad patch if they wont gain any by it.
Then i thought well people are tight bastards, how about allowing a 3rd party of approved developers by EA or whoever who wanted to do it that left me well they are not going to let these people control a game incase they wreck it even more.
I then got thinking why doesnt EA just revert to 1.03 or 1.12 with the new maps as that cant be so hard can it.
What are your views on these possbile soloutions?
I think the donate method would work the best and have it like a booster where as you can stay on the 1.41 and 1.5 servers will be red to you or if you want or you can upgrade and have a server filter for both or each patch.
I know this is far to late unless EA got a bombardment of emails asking for this i just was bored on the way home lol.
yeah same, i loved the funky ranks too.
You have to learn the rules of the game and then you have to play better than anyone else.

They have moved all the desks and computers to the left and right corners out of the view of the camera, where the whole bunch is standing wearing their brand new "Battlefield Bad Company" and "Battlefield Heroes" promo t-shirts.
I like your idea but you what would be real great if they did what the devoted people of C&C Renegade did. EA/Dice give exclusive rights to a mod team so that they would control the severs and what patch they can run on, but I know that could never happen.
EA/DICE should let all the genious ppl to care about this game. I said it 10 times but just check what awsm work are some mod teams doing
