BF2S Forums GTA IV To surpass Halo 3 and eventually take 1# game sold in future?

Oh, I have absolutely NO doubt. 1) It's multiconsole 2) It's not sci-fi and appeals to multiple genres of people 3) GTA's got a good record for not disappointing.

Well GTA4 is being released on two platforms and is expected to be released on a third in the foreseeable future. Halo3 has only been released on one so far and probably will stay there.

Also GTA is better than Halo.

Depends on how many thousands of developers they'd want to pay for something like that, but something like a 'tri-cities' zone would be workable.

Of course, in time, we'll get closer to seeing things like made that possible without so long of a development period with automated scenery (like SpeedTree), the 'advanced rag doll' system used by GTA4 and other titles, and software/hardware enhancements like physx and AIPU.

True, but you also have to factor in the fact that it is notoriously obscene. Plenty of kids can convince their mommys to buy them Halo because it is just an alien shooter, but in GTA you can pay for hookers and then kill them. And it gets a lot of attention for that. Not saying that it won't surpass Halo, just mentioning that negative factor.

Too bad they couldn't release on PC too, to further secure their victory.
