LAKERS are going to win it all, so it really doesn't matter about the lowly Spurs or the weak Suns.
The Suns just aren't that good, deal with it.

Oh yea, that's right they suck huh? Must be why they won 54-55 games this year. I don't think that the Suns suck so much as D'antoni sucks. I mean, I think he is a good coach, but you can't play 8 guys a game and expect them to not get tired out. They need to expand their bench and then actually play them, and then I think the Suns would win a lot more games.KEN-JENNINGS wrote:

maybe the western conference finals but then they have to deal with..KEN-JENNINGS wrote:

That's if the Celtics get through the Pistons. Kevin Garnett is a proven loser. Couldn't even take the T'wolves to the Finals when they had Sam Cassell and Latrell Sprewell.twiistaaa wrote:

I said it before, I'll say it again, Stern is in on it. Why? The same thing that happened between the Suns and the San Antonio Actors happened the other day between Boston and Atlanta. There was a scuffle, and a couple players, one from each team, left their bench and walked onto the court. According to Stern, rules are rules and if there is a confrontation and you are on the bench you stay on it or you get suspended. Just to make it more unbelievable, Stern was at that Boston game. And I just heard tonight, there will be no suspensions for those two players. Yet, Diaw and Stoudemire both got suspended for the same thing. Conspiracy, enough said.DeathBecomesYu wrote:
Ummmm....its basketball....a game if I recall. Its not that serious and not worth this much effort. It amazes me how people get all worked up over a game of sport and even connect it to conspiracy. Amazing!

I hope the Lakers beat the hell out of them. I think it will probably be the first time I will have ever rooted for Kobe. Ever.nukchebi0 wrote:
The Lakers will kill them for you.
Then you can say you go cheated by the team that lost to the winners.
As for fouls in a general discussion, basketball referees are terrible. They don't call anything. I love looking at all the traveling that isn't called.

Hey at least you won one.jason85 wrote:
Lame. Congrats to the San Antonio Actors on their awesome selling of "fouls" tonight. Complete BS, as far as I'm concerned.

Pretty much, yea. I mean, I think the players have some right to argue, because I can watch a game and see where refs got it wrong, for both teams. The thing is, I think it is getting worse as time goes on. If they would just take my advice and have a replay option so the refs can take another look at it, or have another ref on the broadcast bench watching replays the whole time, the game would be a lot more fair, and the players wouldn't complain as much.molotov<bf2> wrote:
Is basketball synonymous with poor officiating then? In the UK premier league football referees get a lot of stick for poor judgements. There is very little respect from the players or the managers & they are often aggressively challenged at almost every decision, whether on the pitch or in the media. It’s endemic & always embarrassing to watch this behaviour from role models on exorbitant salaries. This behaviour is now reflected in the childrens game.
This is a complete contrast to rugby where the referee’s word is final there is no confrontation & players seem to accept the decision even if they don’t respect it. The referees are in complete control. Curious.
lol. is that a soccer team?robcr9 wrote:

Oh, look everyone. A Spurs fan. I'll try and keep the words short, wouldn't want to confuse anyone that roots for them.FEOS wrote:
You sure do make an awful lot of excuses for why the Spurs win. Couldn't possibly be because of talent and coaching...
NEWS FLASH: All teams overplay fouls in an attempt to get them called. All teams have "hatchet men" who foul intentionally at certain points. It's called strategy and tactics.
Manu is known for being one of the worst 'floppers' in the NBA. Also, +1 for being an NBA fan. Im a huge fan. I kinda have to be since my dad watches it every, yes every, single. Night. All season. Every game. Multiple games a night.jason85 wrote:
The more I watch the Spurs play basketball the more I realize that they pay off the refs. Whether it be monetarily or sexually, I don't know. But that is the only explanation I have as to why they get away with so much crap. For those of you who are watching this series, you will know that the Suns have now lost two games in a row to The Evil Empire. What's more, we lost both games after having considerable leads. However, both times, in the second half in particular, they get away with so many fouls. They will make obvious contact with one of the Suns and the refs will look the other way. Or better yet, when the Spurs get hit in a no call situation, they fall to the floor like the biggest linebacker in history just tackled them, and they will get the call. Just look at Ginobli, someone barely touches him and he drops down, head flailing, like you would see in a movie where I guy got shot point blank with a shotgun, and crashes through a window. I know the Suns have some players that do it too, but the Spurs....most of their team does. The NBA says that they want to crack down on players flopping, but I guess they meant that they will crack down on it if Stern's favorite team isn't playing.
No wonder the Suns can't win a series against them. They pull more shit in one game than the entire league does in a week. And they get away with it because they are some "great defensive team". I don't know how many times I have heard that refs will decide fouls based on a players history, meaning they have a reputation of fouling a lot, so they will get the foul, when there is a good reason that the foul should not have been called. Such is the case with Amare. He has this rep of being a player that fouls a lot, which he does. But that doesn't mean that what he did was a foul, at least if they called the game fairly. Tim Duncan, who, from the games that I have seen him play, should foul out five minutes into the second quarter. Even against other teams, teams that I detest, like the Lakers or the Mavs, he won't get called for shit. Yet, so much contact happens where he is involved. Someone goes for a lay up, Duncan is in the restricted area, contact is made, shot misses because of the contact, and no call. I'm sorry, but that's ridiculous. Not to mention unfair.
I remember the start of last season the NBA also said that they were going to call more technical fouls on players when they argue with the officials. Have you ever seen the Spurs when a foul actually is called on them? They talk and talk and talk, and for good measure, they talk a little more. Tim Duncan looks like if his eyes opened any wider in surprise, they'd fall out of his head. And I mean, how can you believe Ginobli with that giant Pinocchio nose on his head, that I can swear I have seen grow in the process of him arguing a call. Yet, when someone from the Suns argues a call, even doing it calmly, they will usually get a tech called on them.
Its absolutely appalling that a game I love as much as basketball is being ruined by the refs and the league office. I don't see why they should be so lenient to San Antonio, but so strict with the rest of the league. I think I just might start referring to the NBA league office as "EA for basketball". Because to be perfectly honest, if the Spurs win again this year, and I don't just mean this series against the Suns, I mean the whole thing, then I quit watching the sport altogether. Because a few years ago, basketball was in decline, but teams like the Suns and Golden State made the game fun, but are penalized for not being the Spurs.
Yea, I'm kinda like your dad. If there is a game on, I'm probably watching it unless I'm busy.Mitch wrote:
