You cannot change your name. Create a new account. Use the search please. Thank you.

Lol, when you created your account name you shouldn't of put in a clan tag, you could have edited any clan tag after you created your player name. If you put the tag in when you created the account your stuck with it.

In all fairness, 99.9% of the MP games you can change your name to anything you want. In the beginning, no one had any idea this wasn't going to be the case in BF2. As time went on, no one wanted to start over again.

The Devs should have thought of this, what a stupid thing to do...

Try to edit your account name in GameSpy, because all BF2 accounts are registered there.

That will not work, I've tried it. The problem is that Gamespy has their info, and EA's account server has their own info. I think the problem is getting the two in sync.

i have heard of people getting in touch with EA/DICE and asking them to change their name for them, but they just get a reply saying that this can not be done.

Wonder if EA have ever changed peoples names due to having offensive names.
I remember playing with a guy who had a name like "F*** EA THOSE STUPID C****"

just cuz im 12.. wtf age shouldnt matter.  well, how the hell do people make there names orange? I know you have to type in §C100 in fron of the names, I tried to change it in the documents, still didnt work for some odd reason.

P.S. Flyinlow : Thats the thing. i wanna change my account name, BUT I have worked so hard for my stats, SO hard.  Dont listen to the [R]age clan, they make a shit load of shit up, cuz im 12.

Just put in the prefix slot in your My docs->BF2->Profiles->Global.con(open with notepad). edit text inside the quotations((Spelling?) next to the prefix thing. Also just put §C in the line and it will cut the first 3 chracters off your name in game. (Ex my name is |c1234SnobbyBoss and §C|c1234SnobbyBoss = 234SnobbyBoss in game!)

Hmmmmm ... I think they are trying to code it so that the orange name thing can't be done.... I think DICE is gonna be pissed you are doing that, don't know if you could get your stats wiped for that.... the stats you've worked so hard for, SO hard....

It's cause when its orange, the name shows up slower, and that may give you an advantage to the enemy, who may not recognize your uniform due to distance/terrain and you kill him first because he had to wait for your name tag to show up....

In any case, yeah age shouldn't matter, it depends on your maturity. Like rank and points shouldn't count, only experience and ability.

But people go with chances and probabilities. Younger aged people MOSTLY, not all, but MOSTLY act immature or more so than their older counterparts.... People with lower points MOSTLY, not all, but MOSTLY suck at this game, because they are fairly new (not all are, maybe new account).

People don't want to waste time getting to know what you really are. Its judgemental.

But hey, it saves time.

I'm 17 and I still remember when I was 12. I remember how when you are that age you think you are so mature and that older people always underestimate you.
But then, the occasional immaturity streaks up from time to time. And it doesn't stop there. It can go on til you're an adult. I've seen adults act childish.

Granted he was 26 or something, but he was rapping Eminem and drilling holes into the pist (skiing/snowboarding pathway) for fun with this specially made drill to make holes for flag stands.... for fun. Making swiss cheese out of the ground. For fun.

Holy shit am I off topic or what? It's 3 am, forgive me.
Peace out.

They should make BF2 like XFire usernames.

Have one set screenname that is always the same, but change it to a nickname that is editable. PB can still find GUID and ban/kick through this. Nicknames would be cool to have.

Then people wouldn't bitch about it either.

Because when they were young older people were mean to them. plus, its fun sometimes. superiority complex. feeds the ego. you'll do it at least once, at leaaassst once, when you're older. its unevitable and sometimes you don't even notice it.

He may have created his account before that option was available.  I registered in July, when there was no tag option.  luckily, I never joined a clan until 1.12 was available.
