How can you tell if a German war medal is authentic?

Anyone know how you can tell is a German war medal is authentic?
My friend has about 12 of them but we don't know if there real or remakes.
If they are fake they are valued at about $25 each, if they are real they are worth about $2,500 each
is there any online guides on checking the authenticity of war medal anywhere?

WWII medals among other items are some of the most reproduced military pieces out there.
good luck, but the odds are really against you.

also, we have some old military surplus shops here....check and see if there are any around you, chances are, they would know better than anyone.....well, besides a nazi.

Some of the ribbons on the medals have wear marks on them like they have been worn alot or something.

My uncle has a large collection of nazi war medals (he collects them for the value of them(i hope XD))

he tends to check them against books and for things like wear on patches that will have rubbed.

I'd type my pc specs out all fancy again but teh mods would remove it. Again.

I have a bunch of medals, pins, and ribbons from the First World War. Some are French and other are German. I'm pretty positive they're real, but I guess the only way to be sure is to ask a professional antique expert.
