Before this thread gets too off track (don't mention the war, I did once but I think I got away with it), authetic German WW2 items are not able to be sold on E-bay. The site owners think it would promote interest in Nazism, and similar ideology.

But if you want a piece authenticated, you go find specific dealers. I'd try a museum contact.

True... .
like that old, somewhat tasteless joke

"My father died in a concentration camp"

"Oh? "

"Yeah... he fell off the watch tower"
I'm watching Seinfeld right now and when i read that I sung the theme song. "Ba dumg dun duwn...bada da duum." Yeah...idk.

I'm certainly no expert... Can you take pictures of the backs? There should be a couple letters/numbers (might be hard to find)

Yes. The metals were given to him by AWSM (All Women's Society of Minesweeper).

Actually, a few of those are Austrian. The second one from the left on the top, and the others with the same face - that's Kaiser Franz-Joseph.

To really identify the medal properly, you would need to get a guide book that shows close-ups of all the features that should be present.  Then, do some detective work.

Here is some information that might help you get started on identifying fake medals (there are two other pages on links at the bottom of the page)

Makes sense, they appeared as WW1-Era medals to me in any case.

Yeah, I did a little research and they are Austrian. On the top left one is a service medal, the other is a medal for bravery. And the one on the bottom left is an allied victory medal from maybe France or Belgium. I don't know what the others are.
