Looks like a drill bit. Acts like a drill bit.

But the comparisions between tools and garbage made in China end there.

I predict that Chinas burgeoning middle class will shy away from inferior goods produced by state controlled factories because of designed suck.

That may make their public, with some amount of paradox, be drawn to tools and machines made in the U.S.A. and Germany where quality is what sells, not cheap.

Locked in a mentality of suck, China will ultimately fail.
The question is how many tens or hundreds of millions will they poison with lead toys, shoot, bayonet and otherwise trample on before they come to an understanding that made of suck is made of fail?

With all of the cut knuckles and elbow grease I've dished out over the years, Ive never seen a bit fail like that. No structural integrity... leaves so much to be desired.

Drill bits shatter or break. They don't fucking make a curly-cue!

I drilled 6 holes in shitty homemade concrete, by the seventh hole the welded on cutting edge was gone and thing thing was turning red hot. It actually began to melt at 1200 rpm's

Yup, I never saw a drill bit like that, lol.  Maybe it's a new Chinese technology and you are criticizing it...

Chinese metal (especially steel) is notoriously shitty. My in-laws in Asia never buy anything made in China unless it's clothing, art, or so cheap it can be disposable (e.g. $3 sunglasses).

Let's just hope the metal they use in their tanks sucks as much as the metal they use in everything else.

They make what people are willing to buy.  They are notorious for cutting corners and taking every advantage they can.  The companies that purchase from them have to be aware of that and make the appropriate adjustments as to how they deal with them.

As far as them failing because of the general quality of work/goods coming from there.  That is a stretch.  They are very resilient and crative people and are very determined to be a economic pwerhouse greater than the US.  I give them 10 years.

Edit:  Oh yeah, Authoritarian Capitalsim gets stuff done.

I think you nailed it. They make cheap shit for us because we're happy with cheap shit. The things they'll manufacture for themselves are much nicer. Unlike us, they import quality and export crap. Why do we do it backwards?

Not before they become the next super power.

Remember Japan in the 60-70s. They were like China of today, couldn't produce anything of quality at all, now look at them. The same will happen to China just on a MUCH bigger scale.

China will succeed standing on people that do not understand that you have to pay for quality. It is incomprehensible to them that the poor quality of the products will make them pay more than the price tag in the long run.

thankfully, they aren't very creative.  They imitate and copy.

And the only time they ever produce something worth while is when a quality foreign company gives them instructions, procedures and specifications.  Otherwise they do it as cheaply as possible; cutting corners, using cheap materials and inferior techniques.

I disagree with that statement.  They immitate and copy things that we are willing to buy.  They make them cheaper and faster.  We still buy them even though we know they will not last.  They know quality, they make quality.  They just don't sell it to you.

China uses inferior resources to make goods.  Do you think they care about quality?  Its the quantity of the products and the cheap labor they use.

For a lack of a better phrase, the Chinese government is 'self-centered'.

The economic development of the country takes high priority over everything else.  hence, the cheap labor and resources to churn out products.

As long as the country's economy grows, the government doesn't care.  The gap between the very poor and the middle class is huge.

I avoide everything "made in china" if possible.

A while back I bought a glass bottle for olive oil. It had that nice little top that allows you to pour the oil slowly. A month later small holes started forming on the bottom wtf ?!? If they can make glass fail....

Everything here is made in China.  All clothing, all our cars (or Japan, but more commonly China), our electronics, our building materials.  In return they buy our steel and raw materials.

Yep, it's all fine between us.
