Regardless, the bar dropped significantly after Kennedy. 1988 was the first of a series of "damned if you do, damned if you don't" Presidential elections in this country. 2008 is just a continuation of voting for the least distasteful candidate.

Polls suggest the contest may be close in Indiana while Mrs Clinton is cutting Mr Obama's lead in North Carolina. However, Mr Obama got a publicity boost in the form of an endorsement from actor Tom Hanks.

Obama's chances to win are better now after Tom's endorsement. How about that?
