Think of African countries where AIDS and civil war are things kids are forced to live with. So, what is better for them? To grow up in poverty with no future or to be adopted by foreign people getting the chance to live a better life in a better country?

I wouldn't have a problem with it, however: the gay couples would still have to be as stable as any other couple and would have to go through just as much red tape and background checks, etc.
I don't think they should get special consideration either discriminatory or by quicker access through the adoption process.
And of course, I'd want there to be checkups from whichever adoption agency is running the program to ensure the child's safety and well being. Mental as well as physical.

We dont need gays to influence the young children's minds.
Semantics 4 me
do i "agree with"? = I'd say no.
"will it cause problems"? = I'd say the kids will be fine

Sure why not, better than children growing up alone or shit conditions. It worked in La Cage aux Folles!
That's different. One of them was the biological father of the kid.jsnipy wrote:

Having just been through the adoption process, I feel that there shouldn't be any discrimination or preferential treatment for gay couples. The key there is "couples"...they must meet the same criteria as straight couples. Many countries will not allow adoption by single parents. If the home studies show the gay couple is stable, financially able to care for their child(ren), and love them unconditionally. The kids need a loving, stable home--whoever provides it.

There is no link between child abuse and gay couples, it's mostly lies. A child growing up with two dads or two moms will not grow up to be gay, always, but even if so, there's nothing wrong with it.The#1Spot wrote:

We need more gays, not less, it will slow down the population boomFallenMorgan wrote:

i'd say no just cause a boy adopted and raised by gays will pretty much be screwed up for life, i.e. he won't know what real family life is like and he will be ostracized for being weird/effeminate/acting gay. For girls, gay parents are probably alright
Um...so fucking what?argo4 wrote:

The only reason people want kids to know what "real family life" is like is so they grow up to get married and have a bunch of kids in a suburban house with a white picket fence and all that other bullshit.
not the point, kids will find out that they have gay adoptive parents, and they'll get hell for it.FallenMorgan wrote:

and FYI, your anti-society bias is showing.
They'll be stronger, because it's likely the kid's parents will tell the kid to not listen to them, because they're biggoted and whatnot.S.Lythberg wrote:

Yes I'm anti-mainstream society, and proud of it.

kids who are constantly ridiculed tend to shoot up the place, not mature into better people.
I was ridiculed through elementary school, and I never shot anyone. In general all the kids who make fun of them for having gay parents will likely end up working at McDonalds.S.Lythberg wrote:

No I think only transgender blood type O- polygamists should.
Yes IF the biological parents approve you have to respect their cultural view even if you don´t agree on it in allot of development countries gay couples are denied adoptions.
I say nay gay marriage is wrong I don't care where they get their kids from.
Um...and is there a logical reason behind it being wrong that does not involve the bible?eaglecorps wrote:

If a black couple adopts a white baby they don't need the permission of the biological parents. Usually if parents put their kid up for adoption, they wouldn't care if the adoptive parents are gay. What if the couple is really caring and whatnot, they get refused, and the next couple that comes around is abusive, but it's a man and a woman?madmurre wrote:

Does this mean that Elen Degeneres can't adopt a cool asian kid like the rest of Hollywood?
Tragic.
Tragic.
Look from their perspective basicly hey we are the sons from satan and gonna take "care" of your child you would´nt want your kids to be raised by demons from hell would you?FallenMorgan wrote:

the example is a tad bit bisarre but i think you see my point and the scenario your using could be used the other way around.
Kids will always be bullied and harassed. If they wear a yellow shirt, if they are brown, if they are left handed. if they eat a different lunch- Kids will always find a reason to pick on certain other kids. Unless you wish to legislate complete conformity, I don't believe that one different aspect will be radically different.S.Lythberg wrote:
