Most games, and game packs, have dropped by $10 - very nice of Valve, huh?

Also, new packs have been added: Half-Life Complete and Counter-Strike Complete. All very cheap! Guess I'll have to update my Source Engine Games post now. Team Fortress 2 is now only $19.99! Finally, new packs have been added including Counter-Strike Complete, Half-Life Complete and Half-Life 2 Episode Pack - basically bundled games together working out much cheaper.

TF2 is stupidly cheap! (That's a good thing, though)

Yes, and in multiple ways:  the way they price their product, the way they deliver and bundle their product, the way they support their product, and the way they design their product.  Even their map editor is the best I've encountered.

Most importantly, Valve seems to embrace their gaming community.  I love how they encourage community development of map content.

Exactly, they have also found (what I believe is) the best form of anti-piracy online-gaming... I know steam can be cracked, but I don't think you can crack it in such a way that you can play online without having payed for the product or stolen a key...

Valve are trying to solve the piracy issue, rather than run away from it like everyone else *cough* Crytek *cough*
Other developers are running for consoles to limit piracy, I don't believe this is a solution, because the pirates will be where the games are...

Yeah, I downloaded Steam so I could download TF2 to play at the weekend, but never got around to it.
I might find £10 to buy TF2 with, and just set it downloading overnight, but knowing me something will go wrong, and I'll lose a tenner.

TF2 aint exactly high spec is it?

No, it most certainly isn't. TF2 runs much easier than BF2 does for me. And my computer is pretty lame.

You won't be wasting a tenner. Steam is reliable.

I have never ever heard of anyone loosing there money through steam.
What it does it that is assigns the game with your account. So you can download it as many times.
