After the two parts (From here) arriving today, Iv just put them in and they fit but when I start the PC, after it shows the Intel page, the screen goes black and says 'Reboot and select proper boot device or insert boot media and press a key'. So what am I suppose to do. I think i put in every wire, although with the new PSU, im not sure if i put the right ones in and the seial ATA wire for the drive is'nt plugged in because the gfx card is blocking it! Is that the problem?? need help quick, im going away soon

Plugging your hard drive in might be an advantage, yes.
The idea of any hi-fi system is to reproduce the source material as faithfully as possible, and to deliberately add distortion to everything you hear (due to amplifier deficiencies) because it sounds 'nice' is simply not high fidelity. If that is what you want to hear then there is no problem with that, but by adding so much additional material (by way of harmonics and intermodulation) you have a tailored sound system, not a hi-fi. - Rod Elliot, ESP

I know, but its blocked, the 8800GTS is big, and i think the HP case is smaller than most so the back of the gfx card is over the slot. It used to go into the White slot but its blocked, but there is a blue, yellow, light blue, and red slot that are'nt blocked, iv plugged the ATA cable into the yellow and it still wont work, any ideas to get arount it?

Well, we need pics of the inside of your case, so that we can see how it really is.

rofl, it's kinda hard to find a "bootable device" (which means in this case the device with the OS (or OS installation files)) when you don't plug your hard disk in.

Remove the 2.5 cage and put the HDDs in the 5.25s.

So the problem was, that you didn't have the HD plugged in?

Doesn't beat cutting the PCI-E plug on a video card to fit in a AGP slot though.

OP: You need to do the following.

Find 2 large cardboard boxes.
Place your monitor in the first box.
And the main system unit in the second one.

Tape both boxes up and send them to HP with a note saying "I'm too stupid to own a PC, please refund my money".
