The idea of any hi-fi system is to reproduce the source material as faithfully as possible, and to deliberately add distortion to everything you hear (due to amplifier deficiencies) because it sounds 'nice' is simply not high fidelity. If that is what you want to hear then there is no problem with that, but by adding so much additional material (by way of harmonics and intermodulation) you have a tailored sound system, not a hi-fi. - Rod Elliot, ESP

Better to be safe than sorry, get the new one
No reason not to get it. Your warranty wouldn't be affected. It's a shiny new motherboard at a discounted price, just because someone has opened the box or something. B-grade stock is usually a great buy.Jenspm wrote:

Am interested in this. I saw a mobo that I wanted that usually retails for £70ish and on B grade there practically giving them away at £25-30 and a HD, am just curious as to what is actually the matter with it if anything.
I saw you guys talk about it possibly being opened etc, does that mean something may be missing? And if so am I entitled to get a replacement for what I dont have, say a manual or something like that? Tah

Bought most of my rents computer off of the B-Grade OCUK area, couldn't tell you why any of the parts were b-grade, looked completely new to me.
Is it just returns n stuff? I suppose OC wouldnt accept them back if they where broke to fuck up, just had a glance at it, some good deals on there. Saw a MSI 780i motherboard for £90 which is phenominal.

B Grade on there means it's fully functional but has been opened and returned and may be missing manuals, cables, screws, other fittings etc.
