that's why you carry brenneke slugs or anything out to 100 yards. 00 buckshot for those more intimate encounters.Blehm98 wrote:
everyone says shotgun but a shotgun would be in no way an ideal weapon
at close range it will work well against groups of zombies, because it can simply shred them
but at any distance you will be entirely ineffective
I'm already prepared.
Long range: Remington 700/high magnification scope.
Primary: Remington 870 or mossberg 590-don't make me choose
close quarters: Norinco 12ga. coach gun/WWII Japanese shin-gunto(samurai sword)
sidearms: Sig-Sauer p220 in a chest rig or shoulder harness/Springfield 1911 loaded on the hip or thigh-both .45acp
knives: Leatherman/7" SOG SEAL-Parker needs to make a Z-day knife.
Something with a lot of bullets... P90. Also because I'd look cool like stargate.
Any 9mm for pistol... probably a glock19.
Oh and I'll take an M4 for longer range encounters.
And a brick in a sock for melee

No.
This:

As for me:
Primary: Steyr AUG - Good for both long range and up close fighting.
Sidearm: SIG Sauer P228 - Powerful yet can fire fast enough.
Melee: A good ol' machete.
you have to remember when fighting zombies the goal is simply to score a headshot and kill it
spraying it with large caliber bullets will cause damage/disable it, but not kill it
a .22 does as good of a job at destroying the brain as a larger bullet, although not as effectively at longer ranges
the bullets are smaller, lighter, and you can carry more more easily
an automatic rifle does nothing more than set you up to die, because if you panic and start spraying you're just wasting ammo
semi automatic or bolt action is always better than an automatic simply to make that impossible
spraying it with large caliber bullets will cause damage/disable it, but not kill it

mp5 for close quarters work, dragunov for taking them out at a distance, .22 pistol, mace as last resort

fuck you guys and your pussy ass guns. real men use nukes.
You're gunna hope you score a headshot with your little .22 and hope the bullet destroys the necesary parts of the brain? good luck with that.Blehm98 wrote:

-12ga buckshot eviscerates the face and eyes, destroys the skull, brain and spinal column rendering you undead opponent incapacitated all in one well aimed shot.
besides headshots, 00 buck will remove/destroy limbs and joints. a .22 will not do that.
shotgun = ineffective against large groups thoughReciprocity wrote:

again, a .22 should be able to destroy enough of hte brain to kill the zombie - it will liquify it tbh
and the larger caliber bullets (i suggested m14/ak47) will work at longer ranges as well, but either bullet should do just fine
if these were zombie cats a .22 would be great. when it comes to man-zombies, even chick-zombies, you're putting too much to chance with a rimfire.
and a .22 doesn't necesairly liquify anything.
and no one ever specified if these were pack zombies or lonewolf zombies. two different animals.

Lightweight, bulletproof which arguably also means teeth-and-clawproof, and I don't need to change the batteries.
For offense, a nice long blade, one side smooth and the other serrated for non-zombie purposes. And a gun if I can find one.
9mm with high cap mags, G3 hi cap mags, with a scope. Sniper rifle, if I knew how to properly use it at long range

Why would I be carrying weapons around? You'd just hold up in a house or something not run around the streets.
Artic Warfare .50. Just sit on my roof all day and pop them. Like on that film.

Say what you want about weight, availability and that kind of crap, but if it's good enough for Strelok and Gordon Freeman, it's good enough for me.

Zombie hunting, you say?
Carbine length AR-15 with either an Aimpoint or EOTech sight (ammo readily available, parts are common, good length and weight, accurate enough, minimal recoil, fast target acquisition with the optics)
Glock 34 (simple, reliable, accurate, 9mm, 17rd mags, and I already clean and shoot one)
Katana (premier decapatation device from feudal Japan...need I say more?)
Back up: Ruger 10/22 in .22LR with optics ( .22LR usually penetrates skulls at close-mid ranges, ammo is light and available virtually everywhere)
Things to consider:
Ammo weight, power, and availability
How quickly you can aim
Shotgun patterns don't spread like they do in the movies
TAKE OUT THE ZOMBIE'S BRAIN or you have not accomplished much!
Weapon weight and size (yes, running like a little panzy might be necessary)

I live in Blighty, so l am only slightly fucked. So first port of call will be my old barracks. Through the front gate and close the bugger. Then to the armoury!
SA 80.... I can happily hit a target at 400 with this badger, maybe 500 with a spot of practice!
As l won't be moving from this barracks for a month or so whilst the Zombies bimble about. I shall be sat on the roof With one of these fabtastic things.
So l should be alright!

That is the god-damn ugliest sniper rifle I've ever seen. It looks anorexic!Rohirm wrote:

The M-14 EBR is a battle rifle; the paratrooper just has a high magnification scope on it. Personally I would put an EoTech holo-sight on it since it would be easier to acquire targets. The M21 is the sniper variant of the M-14 btw.Ninja_Kid2002 wrote:
