-Right temperature (try playing when your heating is broke during winter...)
-Mouse batteries working (biggie!)

Whenever I play late at "night" (it's nearly 3 in the morning ), everything seems to go faster. Cobras zoom overhead, tanks speed by and soldiers are Speedy Gonzales on yam yam.
I have a mousepad, cheap one from Target for 5 bucks, a Microsoft Comfort Optical Mouse 3000 with mouse-sensitivity change on-the-fly (very handy in PR with the tanks, the C2's turret is slow to turn, so I'll go high sensitivity to scan for targets 360 degrees, and when targeting, I'll go to low sensitivity).
Also, position may be a placebo effect, but it helps me. Sitting back in a nice leather-top chair with recliner, I phail more than usual. So I have a hardback all wood chair from Ikea, originally made for dining tables. For comfort, I've draped my gray sweat shirt with hood over it.

All I need is to be in the zone. This is achieved by very high volume levels.
I'd go with everything here other than sounds. Perhaps it's just me because I use vehicles a lot of the time, but I never hear much in game other than people on VoIP. I think I play better when I have some nice music playingSnake wrote:
