New harddrive, enough watts?

I just ordered this 500GB harddrive from Newegg for $89.

My PSU is a 650w Antec, wilI I be fine power wise when I add this hdd?

My current specs are:
E6600 @ 2.4 ghz
7900GS
Creative SB X-Fi Xtrememusic soundcard
ASUS DVD-ROM Drive
Lite-On CD-RW/DVD-ROM Drive
WD 250GB 7200RPM hdd

Im running 3 internal and an external on a 500w, so you should easily be able to run it. Hardrives are a big power hog unless your running a whole mess of them.

Yeah, should be fine.

If you find, after installing the HDD, that your PC is less stable than it was before, then you may have hit the maximum your PSU can handle stably.

To check, disconnect the new HDD again, if it goes back to normal stability, then it's time for new PSU.

But it shouldn't come to that.

A 650W Antec PSU can without question run his setup. Hell, he could install an 8800 and 3 more harddrives and still be perfectly fine. (Unless there is a problem with PSU).

That last bit is key - as you say, it should be just fine, but not all PSUs are made alike - sometimes you can be running one for ages without problem, then you add something that it should handle fine and suddenly you discover it's not so great as you thought it was...

I run an 8800GT + E6600 @ 3ghz + 2 HDDs + 4gb ram on an 500W huntkey. Works fine, so you should be fine to with an 650W A-brand PSU

I have a 230W power supply and run 2 hard drives, 2 1gb of ram, pentium D processor, two dvd rw drives, and floppy drive, and an ati x1300 gfx.

swap the x1300 foran 9800GX2 so your PSU will rocketlauch your whole PC to mars lol.
