I can understand if I tk you on purpose, but on accident really pisses me off.

Taking the suburb on karkand, two squads going working really well together. I am in an apc and people are in a jeep heading toward the train accident. A guy jumps out in the middle of the road, I run him over. BAM, punished. WTF?

Same round, going to the train accident from the square, MY OWN SQUAD MEMBER runs right toward my tank, of course I run him over, BAM punish. WTF? My own squad member? F U buddy I kicked him from the squad. I think it was because we were competing for the top score.

Sometimes when I get ran over I don't even get the option, I rarely ever punish anyway, its a stupid part of the game. There should be ONE tk system, no punish system. If it is that big of a problem when someone is tking their whole team, an admin should be on anyway.

Ok, end rant.

Yep Same here I lay alot of Landmines down and you have not 1 but 2 warnings you are gona Die! The Red X on the ground and a Skull and Cross Bones on your screen. But for some reason people still run right over them and the Punish me. People just dont pay attention I dont Punish unless they shoot me on purpose. I dont even punish if they round a coroner and I scare them and they kill me its dumb to have that in the Game. Most servers I have played on have that disabled

I actually like the punish system except for a few exceptions. Why a Player gets the 3 punishes before he is kicked generally I don't get 3 punishes in a round.

The problem become when punish when it's their fault, or they could have avoided the TK. (running out in front of a tank for example)

Other great ones:
Flying in a bomber and it takes damage then explodes... often the pilot gets a teamkill. (Why ?)
Your flying a chopper and drop down to pick someone up. You cruch them or they run into your tail rotor. ( I really like this when they ask for a pick-up)

Great thing happened to me today on this topic. Flying a BH on mash, one of my squad members keeps crying for a pickup. For whatever reason he didn't spawn on me the squad leader and pilot. So I go and pick him up, crunch..., oops.

My fault? Well maybe but he was running towards me as I was landing. Either way should he have punished? I don't think so, needless to say kicked from squad and I won't be picking him up anytime soon.

I think if you decide to punish someone it should affect your personal score. Something like...

Do you wish to punish?

No - same as before the other player gets -whatever points

Yes- Player still gets 3 punishes before kick. BUt is you decide to punish you get -2 points player gets an additional -4.

Generally I'd pay the additional -2 points when someone TK's intentionally for a punish.

Tank vs Infantry, Winner= tank
Hummer vs Infantry, Winner= Mostly Hummer
APC vs Infantry, Winner= APC
Chopper vs Infantry, Winner= Chopper
Jet vs Infantry, Winner = Jet

In regards to the first 3. Think, look at your mini map before crossing the road. Will there be a Hummer or APC coming, remember the Green Cross Code (stop, look, listen, think). So next time you cross the road remember the code.

There aint much i can say bout the Choppers and Jets, just watch out.

there is noting that pisses me off more in this game, then "the punish" when the idiot runs in front of the oncoming armor Im in...

typing anything to express myself on how I feel is a waste of time

loz,I know that you know some infantry can take out any of the vehicles you mentioned
not to set argrument,but the vehicle,tank,apc,hummer,etc
can be taken out by infantry
with,M15 Mine,C4,Predator Anti-Tank Missile,Eryx Portable Anti-Tank Missile,(Mounted MG or TOW,etc
I agree with you as far as you wont win running in front of or under them

I been there, ppl act like crap,  and punish u, .maybe they are just furious  at the game when playing,
I never punish a guy if he doesnt deserved it . Most of ppl apolagise , and i forgive them. But i forgive
them anyway even if not apolagising  99% of the time , But if some thing gets my attention an suspicion

I think the punish system is stupid and should be removed all together . It's so god damn frustrating getting kicked for other peoples stupidity . Boundful Frustration 2 - that should be the title for this POS game .

Keep in mind that it says you were punished for a TK whenever it happens, which is a different message then when you actually get punished by a team member for a TK.
That's just in case anyone didn't know.

I used to get really angry about the punish becuase I thought is subtracted additional -2 points
on top of the -4 TK. But then I found out more it was for the server / kick treshhold.

I agree with the above examples where people punish others and it is their own fault, but
overall in 1 round that will most likely be the exception not the rule. And many servers are ADMIN
absent...so as pissed as I get, the punish does help AUTOKICK the asses off the servers.

Take time to educate them if you can, hopefully the punsih noobs will learn.

I just wish that the servers could be configed to kick when the IAR punish is over # amount.
Cause being careless and killing your mates IAR say more then 5...well maybe you should get kicked,

but if you play a server for a few hours , that scarce punish here and there gets eventually over 3,4,5
and you get kicked?? That really sucks.

Don't know if a server can AUTO-FORGIVE after a period of time? A mean we have Kills per minute and score per minute ...so a HIGH punish per minute is probably a better metric of an ASS, CARELESS, or INTENTIONAL
Team Killers.  That way, the server will make up for the lack of intelligence from fellow mates who punish too quickly.....dunnu maybe a server focused patch out there will allow server admins to tweak these types of settings.

I only punish when someone runs-me-down. Read that carefully, that means a teammate hit me with a vehicle from behind. Like most everyone, I've botched getting into an approaching vehicle, or failed to look both ways before crossing the street. I don't punish for those. But if you see me hoofing-it down the road and you hit me, I'll not only punish you, I'll probably return the favor given the chance.

the  way i see it is when your in armor run them over if they get in the way there aint no time to play
the grnd pnders need to be more aware of the armor and transports
only thing runs me over nowadays is a fast buggy trying to get me ya know

This is understandable, But it is still not nice to punish even if you get run over IF you are runing down the MIDDLE of a road. Not saying you do that, But I do see people doing it all the time. People runing right smack dab in the middle of a street vunerable when there is tons of cover they could advance through.  I mean, roads are where vehicles drive after all! I have hit guys by accident from behind, and every time they are right in the drive path. I always try not to hit them of course, but vehicles like the dune buggy go fast and on some maps do not seem to have good traction. All the guy in the road needs to do is veer a little, and I can't stop or steer fast enough to avoid them. Think if you could have been partly to blame by hindering your teamates with your choice of where to run. If so, give the guy a chance to apoligise.

On the other hand, I also hate when I am not in the road and get hit by a vehicle because the driver is careless. Such as when I'm capping a flag, and a driver pulls around a pile of sandbags and runs me over. Or when I run up to the side of a tank to repair it, and then the guy makes a 90 degree turn and then backs over me.

what i dont get is why even give them the chance to punish or not punish if you are already being punished the -2 points you get automatically?i think it should be one or the other but you shouldnt have to lose 6 points just cause someone fucked up and got ran over or whatever.

and also why am i aalways getting negative team/kit points when im spec ops? its almost as if not using my c4s to blow up tanks is subtracting points or something, i dont get it, i always end up with like negative 8 points when im spec ops...

I used to think that my -6 was a result of -4 for the TK and -2 for the punish, but that is not correct.

The reason way it seams you got a total of -6 is this:

Team Damage is -2  and the Kill is -4  so if you Hurt a teammate for just over 50%  and not finish them off, and a few secs pass for that to register...then with a few additional shots complete the kill...BAM -6 total.

The PUNISH is just for a server threshold for KICKING people. This way the admin does not have to be watching every little things that is going on.

I am not sure, but I think the KICK is at a server level total not IAR.  so thru 10 rounds your get that
4th punish and you are kicked,,,,sometimes BANNED.

Anyway...if it happens just once in a blue moon, don't worry about the punish...

if you get punsihed like 5 times a day on every server, you either are really doing the TK on purpose
or you are being just too careless about your surroundings.
You cannot just focus on the enemy with a total disregard for the "friendlies".
