When an enemy is spotted or are in the range of UAV (anytime an enemy shows up on your minimap), I think a small icon should appear on your first person screen.

Think about it, if your in a combat situation and your buddy comes around the corner,

"Marcus, I'm out of ammo! There's an insurgent around that corner in the nook about 3 feet from the edge of the building, go get his ass!"

So you know exactly where he is.

The minimap shows an approximation with the inaccuracies of the background maps, where locations can be misjudged, altitude might be ascewed (Sure, let's hunt around for someone in a building who is in fact 500 feet above us skydiving, but no, we don't know that from the minimap!)

Opinions?

It is already easy enough to locate someone under the UAV. We don't need to make it easier.

yeah i think that is a bad idea. we dont need more ways to make it easier for people to find others.

It'd be a little too easy... plus, I think the inaccuracies represent the margin of error used in todays battlefield technology... while impressive, it still isn't perfect

If you ZOOM your mini map all the way in, the UAV will be more accurate,
but remeber that the UAV is a SWEEP, so that blip is where the person was only at that time,
they are moving usually, so by the time you get to that exact locale the person is somewhere else.

After watching a blip after 2 sweeps you may get a sense of direction and speed.

What I dont like is that the commander can SEE enemy troops just by ZOOMING in on his map and looking,
he can SCAN and call his attention to somewhere, but he can also just PAN/ZOOM around and call out anything
he sees moving...I do not like that...Commander should not be able to SEE that way....it removes
the fog of war.

He should be forced to scan and then find me....this coming from a Sniper that relized that the enemy commander could find me even after our Seals blew up the radar and radio hut....

He should have been forced to deploy and engineer, fix those assets, then scan/uav around...
I would be okay if he could get a visual for say 10secs after the scan completes, but otherwises it just feels like they can see things they should not be able to.

I'd have to agree that having some type of spotting indication for an enemy target in first person mode would make it far too easy to locate enemies. Getting knife and pistol badges would be damn near impossible.

However, I'm not opposed to the idea entirely. I think that if there were a scout class that had a special set of binoculars or a laser tag gun that it would be nice to have the ability to indicate to your allies more specifically in first person view where enemy units are. For general spotting, scans, and UAV's though I think it would be far too devestating to the hide and sneak tactics of the game. Just my 2 cents worth.
