As far as i know in the United States military that once you get promoted to a major or anything above it you don't actually fight on the battlefield. You stay back at HQ and do stuff. As far as i know this is true but im not really sure. Anyone know anything about this and why EA didn't do any research before they just threw in these ranks?
Kind of true depending on the unit and the individual officer. Not sure how you would accomplish this in the game though.34766 wrote:

Maybe they should do paperwork while everyone else does actual work. Every sappy joke or shitty order they give out = +1 point. It'd be just like in real life.
Well, it can't be accomplished. Thats my point. EA or dice or w.e shouldn't have put in ranks higher than a Captain cause after that noone is actually physically fighting on the battlefield.
People have a hard on for this rank stuff, if Dice took that away people would lose thier motivation to play the game. I think they made the right call.

But its a game so im still going to enjoy it
