At this point there is nothing more you can do. Israel has the right to remain, even if it never really had a right to go there in the first place. All because of some Zionists who pressured the British government.
Let's all forget for a second, then, that 90% of the Palestinian population was made homeless on the day Israel was created. Let's even forget that there has been slaughter and enmity for the past 60 years.
What the hell are they going to do? How are you going to solve a conflict that has gone one over generations? How are you going to divide the land back so that Palestinians can live normal lives?

No it doesn't, Syria Paelestina is what the Romans renamed the Ieudea (or something) province after they re-organised it because of several Jew revolts.konfusion wrote:

Nope. It was created by the Romans, the name being a humiliating reference to the Philistines. Though the ancestors of the Palestinians did move to the region before the ancestors of the Jews.konfusion wrote:

It's what they did to the Palestinians. Through things like the Deir Yassin massacre. Which was part of a psychological ploy by the Irgun to inspire terror in the Palestinians.konfusion wrote:

Here's a report from the chief of Hagganah intelligence 3 days after the atrocity.
Menachem Begin, head of the Irgun (the perpetrators of the massacre) at the time and later Prime Minister of Israel and recipient of the Nobel Peace prize, claimed this was a good thing. The "legend of terror" he claimed, was "worth half a dozen battalions". What a lovely man.The conquest of the village was carried out with great brutality. Whole families, women, old people, children, were killed and piles of corpses accumulated. Some of the prisoners taken to places of detention, including women and children, were brutally murdered by their guards. Among the prisoners was a young mother and baby. The guards killed the baby in front of its mother and after she fainted, also murdered her.
Israel cannot now reasonably be moved or dissolved. It has to remain. In what form, remains to be seen. I cannot expect that unless Israel makes immense concessions, which they should certainly do, that the Arabs would ever truly concede to a lasting peace.konfusion wrote:

You do a deal where the Palestinians get slightly more of the land than the Israelis and put the Palestinians on a more even footing.konfusion wrote:

Whilst the land side of this is achievable, though exceedingly unlikely in the current political climate, the idea of equality between Arab and Jew would be by far the more difficult to achieve. There are generations of hate to get rid of. But fortunately there can be peace without harmony. Were a big deal involving the land to go through, in a manner that made the Arabs feel as though they had seized it, there could be peace. In peace the road to true reconciliation could begin.
The jews never won that land by force.. it was GIVEN to them and they were able to keep it with international help.blademaster wrote:

My solution is stop funding both sides, stop restraining israel and stop the sanctions against Iran.. Let them have nukes. We sit back and watch what happen.. the stronger will keep the land.
Thinking that the pals and the jews will live in peace side by side in two different states is just naive. It will never happen.
And you base this on what ? Maybe you should start reading some history and read about the many massacres in 1947 and the jewish terror groups like Irgun.AutralianChainsaw wrote:

Philistines weren't Semite (Jew/Arabic), they were Indo-European. Modern day Palestinians are more or less Arabs. Have no Idea what happened to those (Philistine) guys, they either blended in with the Semites or were turfed out at some point during the Career of the Holy Land (career of being the most violent un-holy place on earth)

The Israeli's won the Golan heights cos the Syrians got their asses handed to them and if you unleashed them, one on one, Israel will ultimately win the day against Iran. Better gear, better training, more experience.AutralianChainsaw wrote:

The jews won those wars because they were receiving military assistance from the international community. The arab armies back then were no match against modern military. If a war break out today, the outcome could be very different as the arabs armies got better equipement and modern military. And we all saw what a little militia like the Hezbollah was able to acomplish last summer lol.M.O.A.B wrote:

Hezbollah hasn't remove Israel either so they didn't exactly win, Hezbollah isn't a standing army like the Iranian's. Israel is the ME version of the US, put it against another military in conventional warfare and it'll wipe them out big time.bogo24dk wrote:

They did not get their soldiers back and the rockets fell on israel until the UN cease fire.
They failed to achieve their objective = they lost.

I also hope you realize that without all that help from outsiders, Israel would not exist today. The jews did not rise up from the ashes of the holocaust and created their own country, it was a gift. Thats my point.
I know they are powerful and all, i realize that they could kicked the ass of any ME country in a conventional war but my point is if, lets say Lebanon had received all the gifts and military assistance that Israel received, they would be a superpower in the ME today.
Israel is existing today because of international welfare and only because of that i will never have respect for that piece of land. Now if the jews had conquered that land by themselves without any outside help and would have survived without any outside help like America did and the UK etc, that would be different.
Israel got assistance to establish itself, everything else it has done off its own back using equipment supplied to them. Just because they recieve gear doesn't mean it does the work for them. In the 50's and 60's the IDF was using Russian weapons and equipment as well as Western tech. Hell their primary tank for a good few decades was the Centurion, which was British and they got a load of aircraft from France. Saying the US is the only country which supplies Israel is a very uninformed suggestion. Britain gives SA80's and Challenger 2's to Oman. Iran gets weapons from Russia, China, and still uses some of the US gear it recieved in the 70's. Iran was created by Arabs taking over Persian land, and they hold their position because they recieved weaponary from other countries such as Russia, they created some of their own aircraft, tanks and weapons.AutralianChainsaw wrote:

Tell me what the difference scenario wise here is to Israel?
The scale of the military aid to Israel is just staggering. Supposedly Israel has military capability exceeding any NATO country ffs. That's the difference.M.O.A.B wrote:

I'm getting at this, people act like Israel's the only country out there that gets given weapons from foreign countries its allied with. Exceeding NATO capabilities in warfare isn't a bad thing to have in the ME.PureFodder wrote:

US, UK, France...all NATO countries. If you go with strictly conventional forces, Israel is outclassed by many other NATO countries.PureFodder wrote:

The scale of military aid to many countries is just staggering. Jordan gets tons of aid. Egypt. Saudi Arabia. Lebanon. Turkey. Pakistan. India. Thailand...
They and many others get tons of either direct aid or foreign military sales from many different countries. If you aggregate the aid those countries get from all sources, I'm sure it is more (in some cases) than the aid Israel receives (in either $ or FMS).

The Arab militaries were supplied (military assistance) primarily by the Warsaw Pact (USSR mostly). Supposedly top-notch (in some cases better) equipment. Yet "the jews" still won.AutralianChainsaw wrote:

The problem is that most of the palestinians didn't accept & integrate into israeli society after they offered in goodwill to take them all in. If they don't like the rule of israel then they should leave, peacefully. Oh but you say they have no where to go, I'm sorry but if I was in that situation as a palestinian I would find some way out or try & be a productive member of their society.
There is bad blood now on both sides, it is up to them now ,no one else, to reconcile & forgive each other for past crimes against each other.
Happy B-day israel , may the wisdom to solve this conflict shine upon your nation.

I suggest you brush up on your history. Arab armies had massive support from the USSR. Material and advisors. In my opinion, the biggest problem was interference of politics in the military matters, for example deposing the general in command in Yom Kippur war, and sending the tank divisions on the other side of the canal by Sadat. Israelis crossed the canal, and the rest, as they say, is history.AutralianChainsaw wrote:

Yeah. If there was a traditional, conventional conflict, they would end it in less days than before. The disparity between the quality of Israel's and the Arab countries air forces has increased.Sorcerer0513 wrote:

It goes without saying that air superiority is integral to victory in a conventional modern war.

The antisemite will act as if it is normal for countries to fight and win wars only to give the land back. The rest of us know our history a little better than that.

If all the Israelis want is a jewish state they can have it anywhere, Alaska for example.

The Palestinians and Israelis have been fighting each other for a long long long time, I think they wont stop until one of them is completely eradicated, which most likely wont happen. Unless one is going to destroy the other completely, I dont think anyone should interfere. Highly unlikely a peace agreement would last long, and creating it in the first place would be damn near impossible
