I've been all over Italy, both privately and as an excursion guide, and based on the experiences I've had myself, and those of all the tourists I've handled, the consensus is that Italian pizza is generally much better than the pizza you get elsewhere.

Genuine, well-done Neapolitan pizza (margherita pl0x) is THE BEST THE BEST THE BEST. Lombardi's in NYC (cowami knows wat I'm talking about) is awesome.
As for chain pizzas, California Pizza Kitchen is good. Freschetta rocks the cocks for frozen pizza (try the bacon cheese pizza ig)
